The same weekend my SIL has her oldest daughters birthday party. UGH! Please pray when I tell her this that she will not dispose of me:(

very cool (love it when the parents want to still treat us, even when we are adults smile.gif ) is it camping or resort like?

how old is your sisters daughter?
I mean if she is really young meh, may set her off.
But If she is over 9 , trust me the kid is too focused on her friends to notice.

Well if the trip is paid for and all said and done you shouldn't worry about. Just send a cute gift and a nice card. Maybe go over before u leave and hand deliver.

Why would your SIL care? I mean I understand for your niece to be disappointed, but I don't get why you're afraid SIL will "dispose" of you? That's an overreaction, in my opinion, of course.

I think you need to stop worrying about what her reaction is going to be to things and start taking back your life.

I know its easier said then done, but you are going to have to deal with her for the rest of your life...you need to start making a stand or she is going to keep doing it. If she throws a fit..she throws a fit. Don't back down. Once she realizes that her petty fit throwing isn't going to make you do everything she wants anymore she will chose her battles more wisely.

The worst that could happen is she throws a fit and stops talking to you....Would that be such a bad thing? laugh.gif

oh i know. that OP was just me trying to be funny and lighten my situation. I know I have to make a stand and say enough is enough. She throws fits all the time, gets negative comebacks from it but do you think it make her choose her battles more wisely...nope! She chooses to continue or make the fits worse. I always say we need to say enough This is our life, our family our desicions. Yes we will make mistakes but those will be ours that we make and learn from. And everyone says yes i know(MIL, Marcus, etc) but then never does it. Its like they dont want to tick off the beast! Or else your life will be heck for a loooong time! Its sad yes I admit we think we have to work around her fits. Its makes me mad. BUT again that something I need to fix and marcus as well. The only person in the family that will not take her crap and will not let her fits change how he feels is marcus and his sisters step dad! He says she either lives with it or not... her decision.... We really need to learn from him!
