Ahh, this has been a busy week for doc visits for Megan and the week isn't over yet. We have 2 more Thursday. wacko.gif Monday was the ENT regarding her tonsils. He says they are pretty big, but we decided to go with a steroid/antibiotic plan first to see if that shrinks them, if not then surgery. rolleyes.gif This morning she saw the pedi Gastro doc who wished the ENT wouldn't have given the steroid just yet, as he wants to do a scope tomorrow of her esophagus to see if she is still refluxing and to see if she has esophagitis (sp?) - it's like an allergy of the esophagus that causing swelling, which could be the reason she's choking all the time. SO since we already started the steroid we have to wait until next Wednesday for it. I feel so terrible for her. sad.gif She's been poked and prodded so much all her life and it continues. sleep.gif She also got her blood work done today for the surgery to determine if they will just look at her esophagus or also go through her bum to scope and biopsy in her intestines sad.gif

Then Thursday is her OT and the allergist to see how she's doing with the food allergies.

I wish my baby didn't have all these issues. I feel absolutely terrible for her. The food diet is doing her a LOT better, but she still is choking all the time and saying her tum tum hurts. She also has that refluxing sound coming from her stomach/esophagus, too. bawling.gif bawling.gif

What kind of patient is she, Karen? Does she handle all the invasions well, or does she fall apart and panic (like Corey does)? I know these types of tests are scary for both of you, I hope it goes as well as can be, and that you get some resolution. It's been such a long road for you guys! hug.gif

She's a TERRIBLE patient. happy.gif sleep.gif She's been to so many doctors, been poked, prodded, blood taken, x-rays, etc, etc that any time she goes into a doctors office now she just goes into her little safe place in her mind and won't speak to the doctors to explain to them where it hurts. When she sees them coming with any kind of instrument, even just to take her blood pressure or listen to her heart, she goes NUTS. Unfortunately, she's the same way with meds now because of the different ones she's been on for things. When she had her adenoid surgery last year it was terrible. They had to give her some strong drugs just to keep her calm while waiting for the surgery. They make you go in so long before the surgery, and unfortunately with that one we had to wait longer than normal. Then she didn't come out of the anesthesia too well either and so her recovery from that minor procedure was a LOT longer than normal. ETA: I don't think this procedure will be any better because we have to be there at 6 am and the surgery isn't scheduled until 8 am, if it's on time. dry.gif

She freaks out badly just when she sees you get the thermometer out. rolleyes.gif sad.gif
