Police allege man stole dog for sex

TROY - A Piqua man allegedly stole a dog for the sole purpose of having sexual intercourse with it, and did just that, police officials said.

Jermaine A. Carroll, 26, of Piqua, has been charged with misdemeanor receiving stolen property and additional charges are pending, including animal cruelty. He is scheduled for an arraignment in Miami County Municipal Court on June 18.

Authorities allege Carroll went to 628 Gordon St. around May 29 and took the dog from the yard of the home before he engaged in sexual intercourse with the 2-year-old black labrador retriever mix, named "Baby Girl."

"He took the dog for the purpose of having intercourse," said Piqua Deputy Police Chief Bruce Jamison.

The owner of the dog, who had been out of town, returned home a few days later when a mutual friend told her Carroll had her dog, which was later returned to the owner. Once returned, the owner called police after she suspected Carroll, who once owned the victimized dog, of having sex with the canine because he allegedly did it before, according to police reports.

The owner notified the police after she noticed that the dog seemed "irritated" and "was not acting right," reports sate.

The dog did not suffer severe injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Piqua Police Department
