That's horrible! That poor little boy. And how sad for his mommy. I don't understand why just the woman was charged with manslaughter and not her brother - he was there and could have given the boy a drink!

Poor Amari......Makes sense why she lost her own children. She is a cruel woman. Even my 4 year old and 3 year old know they need water to stay healthy.

That was my thoughts too, I was like what a shady person to leave your kids with you know. I mean come on now. The mother had a "fever" but could still keep hber 8 month old...this makes no sense to me. A fever that makes you leave your child with someone for a week Why one child, why not both??

I've had my MIL take Andrew when I was sick, but leave Allie with me because I was nursing, and Allie just doesn't generally do well away from me. So I can see why she would leave him with someone and not her 8 month old, but a week is a pretty long time. I wonder if she was really sick or just wanted a break.

I wondered too why anyone would leave her son with that lady knowing that she'd had her own kids taken away because of drugs - the article said they'd been friends since they were children, but come on!

Well....it says that she was good friends with the womans daughter....So maybe they were taken away before they met.


My thing is....if you were well enough to go to the store and get diapers to take over to the womans house.....she was probably well enough to take him home with her...kwim?

The only way I would let someone non family related take my child like that would be if I was so sick I couldn't function at all. kwim?

That is so sad, that poor little boy! How he must have suffered! I'm glad that they both were charged, but I think they both should have been charged with Manslaughter! I feel so terrible for the little boys mother, I can't even imagine what she is going through!

But it didn't say when those kids were taken.....It might be possible that it happened when they were younger and the friend didn't even remember because she was young.....Plus people don't usually advertise that info...kwim?
