I'm in the process of seeing doc after doc about this ulcer I apparently have and I also suffer migraines. I was taking lots of Motrin for them before and apparently that is what caused the ulcer. My GP put me on a different anti-depressant for prevention. I never knew anti-depressants were used for migraine prevention ohmy.gif . Anyways, he put me on Tramadol to ease the pain of the migraines. I'm pretty nervous about it for several reasons. One is it's a narcotic and addictive. I don't have an addictive personality per se, but I do believe I was addicted to Motrin for them which has put me in the predicament I'm in now. rolleyes.gif The second thing is it apparently makes you very very sleepy - not a good thing when one is working full time. dry.gif

I just wanted to know what other's experience was with it. TIA.

hug.gif I didn't know you were having ulcer and migraine trouble. I hope the meds help. I don't have any experience with that particular med, but my doctor did put me on anti-depressants for treatment of my migraines. It would probably help if I would take them regularly. tongue.gif

Thanks Aimee. I didn't know I was dealing with an ulcer til I had to go to the ER on Tuesday of last week. rolleyes.gif I wasn't feeling well all the weekend before that, went home early on that Monday and Tuesday morning ended up in the ER. I saw my GP yesterday and today I have to see the Gastro specialist about a scope. rolleyes.gif

The migraines I've always suffered from off and on, but lately they've been pretty bad.

Karen, I do not have experience with taking this med, only giving it, and it was strong...I do know the woman who took it, did seem very sedated. Is it possible to just take it for a short time, at a small dose until they determine what is seen with the scope?
I would also check but for some reason I was thinking there is aspirin in that med? that would also irritate an ulcer..
I dont have a drug book at home to look it up.
good luck, and hope you are feeling better.
