Yes. I have for about 20 or so years. I have hypothyroid (thanks, mom). Meds worked like a charm for me. I go in to get my levels checked every year or two other than that, I pop a synthroid and all is good.

yes, but i am right on the border so it wasn't so bad that i couldn't live without the synthroid...my doc wanted me to take it but i didn't to. that was six years ago...now the symptoms are driving me ...assuming what i have are low thyroid symptoms and not something else--i'm always cold...it's May in Miami, FL and i'm not running the AC because i'm always cold , i have these weird muscle and joint pains that feel kind of like body aches when you get the flu...i was shooting saturday afternoon and evening and my hands were hurting after holding the camera for only half an hour! my camera IS heavy and it IS hard to hold up in front of my face all the time but i'm usually not feeling the pain till after 2-4 hours or so. also, i feel sluggish and slow, don't sleep well and have gained weight that won't come off yet i have no appetite. anyone out there think it sounds like low thyroid or could it be something else? but yes, to answer your q, i was diagnosed but like i said, i was right on the border but my doc said i have all the symptoms and should take the synthroid and i didn't want to and now i'm not so sure, i feel like sh*t. -------------------- |

Yeah those do sound like the symptoms to me - but you better go get a blood test and be sure

well, here's the thing--my blood tests always come up normal but my doc suspected that i still had low thryoid so she sent me to get the radioactive tests done and that showed that i was right on the border, so both the doc and the radiologist doing the test thought i needed synthroid because being on the cusp is reason enough but because i was on the cusp and because the blood test was normal i didn't want to take it but i still am on the low side and now i have these symptoms...idk what to do but i do know that i hate feeling like this, i'm like a walking train wreck.
