with my brand new little pink CHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wub.gif wub.gif

OMG, it came in the mail last night and I used it for the 1st time this morning and I swear I got down on the ground and bowed to that thing after I was done doing my hair! laugh.gif It took seconds to straighten my hair compared to LOTS of minutes with the hunk-o-junk I used to use.

Who knew you could fall in love so easily. tongue.gif rolling_smile.gif wub.gif

BTW, Mel if you are reading this thanks for the tip on these things. When you mentioned it awhile back I decided I had to try it. It just took me a bit of time to let go of the change it cost to have one. happy.gif

so how does this chi work and how much are they? i've been hearing all about them but never really looked into them...what is it that makes it work so fast as compared to everything else?
can you use it on wet hair?
and seriously, how much? are we talking more than a hundred bucks?
is it like a flat iron and does it damage hair?
i have an ionic hair dryer that works really well but i have very thick and long hair so it still takes a good 20 minutes whereas with a regular hair dryer it's closer to 45. so i don't blow dry everyday, or even that often, i just live with waves and occasional frizz.
but if there is something better out there that doesn't dry hair out....

Ooooh.... tell me more!!!

I have very very curly hair.... and the straightener I use now, I thought was great... but it still takes me about an hour or a little more to straighten my hair, and even then, it's still very thick and quite poofy....

gimme some deets!!! laugh.gif

Oh goody Karen...I am glad I didn't let you down.

Be warned they are hot hot hot. Brittany burned her ear after I warned her..lol

They are ionic..so less damage to your hair. They are very hot..over 200 degrees..but they leave your hair very silky. I have no idea why..but compared to other straighteners they are awesome. Once you use one..you would never go back.

They are anywhere from $50 to well over $100..just depending where you get them.

But they are worth it..check ebay out. That's where I bought mine and the girls.

Ok, well I'm sure Mel can tell you a lot more as I just used it for the 1st time this morning but it took seconds to heat up. I was shocked at how fast it heat up. My other iron I have to let it sit there for at least 5 to 10 minutes to heat up. Then it takes forever to straighten it. The Chi, I think, gets a lot more hot than a regular flat iron, so that's why it is faster at straightening hair.

I got mine for about $90, I believe. It was less than $100 on ebay for sure.

I would not use it on wet hair. Jennifer - I have very thick hair and gets frizzy easily so I wash my hair every other day and same goes for blow drying and it takes me a good 20 minutes to blow dry my hair.

I just think the Chi does a heck of a lot better job at straightening your hair, than at least my Revlon cheapy did. It's also faster which is a plus for this working mom. thumb.gif

Mel and I were posting at the same time.

I agree with Mel that it does leave your hair silkier. My stylist told me they actually damage your hair a lot less than a regular cheapy straightener.

Also I noticed that my hair was 'flatter' than when I used my el cheapo. This is a plus for me since I have very thick hair that tends to poof out too much.

Wow, I never heard of this thing. Karen, you should be a paid spokesperson! rolling_smile.gif
Wish I knew about this thing before I freaked out on my unruly wavy hair and cut it all off.

I want a Chi bawling.gif

My friend sells salon products. She has an online store, but she used to be in the salon business. She doesn't sell Chi's, but she has this brand called WiGo that is supposed to be just as good. I can get them 1/2 off and I'm considering trying it. Apparently the makers of Chi are very picky who they allow to sell their products. happy.gif

I'm glad you like it Karen! I wish I could get one, too. And it's pink??? I'm so jealous!!!
