My fingers have been really sore lately and feeling like they need to crack a lot. I've always cracked my knuckles, but now when I do it they hurt... My wrist was also really sore for about a month... I still can't put too much pressure on it. Could I have some arthritis already? Anybody else have issues with this? I'm getting old

What kind of work do you do? I had tendinitis in my wrist from repetitive motion and I had very similar symptoms, but I also had a "popping" noise and feeling in my wrist when I moved it certain ways. You might consider being checked for tenditis or carpal tunnel by an ortho specialist.

I'm on a computer all day, but the wrist pain is on the left - I would think if it was carpal tunnel it would be in my mouse-hand, you know? The typing could certainly cause the joint pain though. It's just strange that it is so much worse lately. Hmmm.

I actually had to have surgery to release the tendon that runs down the wrist to your thumb. Mine was my mouse hand, but a lot of people have problems with the other hand as well and most of it stems from the setup of your workstation or so my doc said. You might try a brace and see if that helps. My serious pain and numbness just started bothering me all of the sudden as well. Honestly, I woke up one morning and couldn't turn my wrist or move any of my fingers.
Edited to add that my doc told me that having kids is also a factor in this type of tendinitis and is very common in daycare workers because of the way we routinely pick up children from under their arms. This movement puts a lot of strain on the wrist. I think the actual type of tenditis is DeQuervains if you want to google it. You know, I wondered about the kids thing... My left arm is my baby-carrying arm! Very interesting. Thanks for the info!

I've had joint pain in my fingers since I was pg with Kylie. I can remember the first time my thumb stuck and I couldn't bend it. I had to see a specialist and was told it had everything to do w/pg and that I could have steroids injected into the joint of my thumb, but that the whole thing was temporary. A year after Kylie was born the joint pains in my fingers (not just my thumbs) went away for the most part. Then got pg with Megan, same things happened again. My hands got so painful there were times I couldn't even type for work. It took about a year after Megan was born before the severe pain subsided, but I still have finger joint pain constantly. I've had several tests done for rheumatoid arthritis, but nothing was conclusive.
