Ashley wants to bake a cake for my birthday tomorrow. I have been doing well with my eating with only a few small slip-ups. I really don't want cake, but I can't turn her down either. Any ideas for the a low calorie, fat free cake?

I thought of doing an angel food cake with light whipped topping and pineapples, but Ashley won't go for it. She will want to icing it and put sprinkles on top. I can fake that when I eat the cake... I'll just spread my icing around the plate and pretend like I ate that part. (see our kids do teach us tricks smile.gif)

HELP ...Anyone have any recipes or ideas for me?

You can substitute apple sauce for any vegetable oil and use just egg whites. Worth a shot anyway! wink.gif

awww thats sweet she wants to bake for you, Kaitlin helped me with her cake, and is ready to make daddy some for his birthday next month. She wanted me to have a cake for mine but I never did get one, probably better that way. I am sure there is something out there, you can ice and angel food cake and she can add sprinkels and it does not have to be baked in a bunt pan either.

I am in the same boat since my birthday was yesterday, Jason and I made cupcakes and I ised applsauce in place of oil and egg whites for the eggs.... that adds no fat to the cake and it is very moist abd really good..... there is no frosting that is low fat though... you could use cool whip

You could make a cream cheese icing - like low fat cream cheese...is there such a thing? I think there is.
