I think we might have thrush

UGh. Lex has this thick white coating all over her tongue and it doesn't scrape off. And she's been kinda fussy when nursing lately. I just thought it was b/c of the cold we all had a couple weeks ago. But now I'm not so sure. I don't really have itchyness or burning nips, but my right one does have a little pain every-once-in a while. Does that sound like thrush???

I dunno, but I'd get it checked out just in case. You might have caught it early and your symptoms may come on later.

could be. Ours is usually white patches on the insides if her cheeks, but I know that it can coat the tongue too. I usually catch ours before it gets real bad. I hope it isn't, for your sake. I would have it looked at just in case.

Yep! It's thrush.... Dr. said it seems to be a fairly mild case though, and was actually really unsure if it was even thrush, but.....sure enough it is. She checked out my nips really closely started asking about the discoloration I have (they've turned really pale in the last week or so), and had Lexi nurse for a bit. After she nursed, the Dr. noticed how Shiny and bright red the nip got....she said I'm going to say you've got it, and if you dont' then the GV wont' kill ya to take for a few days.

So, she rubbed a little on my nip and sure enough....it lit up like a christmas tree light from all the candida Shocked the heck out of the Dr. She said " I didn't think you had it that bad, but I guess it's enough." Oh well. But now I have two purple nipples and a baby that looks like she lost a fight with a giant purple marker. Oh well. She said we only have to treat for the next 5 days, and she'll call me on Monday to see if we're better. But in the meantime I have to go and buy some new pacifiers and boil all my pump equip, bottles, and old pacies until Saturday or Sunday. UGH.

Guess I won't be doing the girls Christmas pics this afternoon.

Yuck. We are purple here too. Its no fun. We have a bunch of clothes that we set aside just for when we have it. GV will ruin everything.

Oh yeah. She's already stained her outfit real good! Good thing I'm doing laundry too. All her crappy clothes were dirty, and now she really needs to wear them. LOL
