Has anyone here experienced prenatal depression or thoughts of not being sure of being ready for another baby. I can't wait but at the same time I'm not feeling excited throughout my pregnancy like I was with my first son.

I am sorry you are feeling this way. When I was pregnant with my second, I was excited, but subdued. I was just really worried how my oldest was going to handle the addition and it put a strain on me. Even the first few weeks after my second dd's birth, I was still feeling that way... but before long, we all got use to things. With my 3rd, we didn't have any of those problems..... but it was several years later. Now, I'm having struggles of my own, because I would like one more, but yet, am enjoying life with just 3. I wish it was really cut and dry, but it's not.
If you are feeling really crummy, it may help to talk to your dr. But you can always come here and talk to us too. We can be a shoulder for you. -------------------- Judi

First of all, let me say welcome! We're glad you stopped by!
I am a first time Mom, but I can relate to how you are feeling. I kind of want to try for another one, but not sure if I can do it. Ashley has really enriched our lives and I adore every moment I spend with her, but I am not sure if I could handle TWO! Two just seems so overwhelming (although people have two, three, and four children and seem to manage) I am just not sure if I can do it. I also wondered how Ashley would take it. However, my Mom, my sister-in-law, and my sister all tell me that it is easier with two, especially when they get a little older. Just think, now your little boy will be a big brother to someone -- that's a special bond that they'll have for life! I don't know if I have been of any help, but I just wanted to let you know that I understand how you feel and I would probabley be the same way. Please stop by anytime if you just want to chat! <<HUGS>> -------------------- |
