Someone has taken my sweet baby and left a screaming, slobbering monster in her place. mad.gif The cold I've had for two weeks is not getting any better and that's most likely due to the fact that I've had 6 hours total of sleep over the last 3 days. I had been feeling better before the "baby switch".
Lauren is usually such a great baby. She plays alone long enough for me to get my work done, she eats great, she sleeps great. Now, none of that is true. She's woken up every night since Satuday, screaming and won't nurse or settle back to sleep for more than 15 mintues at a time. She won't nurse much or eat many solids and lord help me if I try to put her down at all. And the kicker? She won't nap for more than 15 minutes at a time either unless I'm holding her. That's the worst since I do work at home and I can nap when she does if we get a poor nights sleep. But not recently. It's like she's dangling the nap in front of my desperate eyes and I want to believe it so much. Then I do, and I lie down with her but I'm rudely awakend pretty quickly by the screaming & crying.
I normally don't mind holding her as much as she will let me but unfortunatally my work is being audited and it's requiring some pretty intense brain work (really hard when you are sleep deprived) and time. I worked one handed all day yesterday from 9am until 11pm and I would say I actually got about 3 hours worth of work completed between double checking myself for errors due to lack of brain capacity, and holding Lauren.
Teething tabs, check. Advil, check. Ice pops, check. Sleep?? not so much. bawling.gif
I don't see any bumps on her gums but the mild fever she's had and her attitude all point to teething. I hope they hurry up and pop through. K never really had a problem with cutting teeth...or maybe she did and I blocked it out...sort of a post-teething-stress-disorder? blush.gif
I can't nap today even if Miss fussy-butt does ince the maid is coming soon, I have a hair appointment that I will be charged for if I don't go, K has swimming lessons and I have to go to the grocery store or we will be having pasta with nothing on it for dinner. boooooooooooo hisssssssssss growl.gif

hug.gif I know how you feel, although I'm not at home with Megan all day so I'm sure I'd go nuts if that was the case. hug.gif

I know what you mean about the first not acting this way. DH and I both said Kylie never acted near as badly as what Megan is with teething or we've just blocked it too. rolleyes.gif

Does she have any teeth yet? After the first two on the bottom popped through Megan was fine for a few days then it's been back to slobbering, teething, cranky and now with a cold. rolleyes.gif I wish they ALL would just pop through and get over with.

hug.gif and hang in there!

I'm so sorry Cary! The lack of sleep on top of a cold mixed with a cranky baby is not a pleasant combination, to be sure. Is it possible that Lauren is also fighting a cold? Corey was up every 15 minutes all night long over the w/e, and she woke up the next day with alot of nasal congestion.
I never really noticed drastic changes with any of my kids with teething. Some people attribute teething to all sorts of stuff, maybe it's true, but I just never noticed it. Whatever it is, I hope she gets over it fast!

I don't know Megan (even before this cold she has now) was a BEAR when the 1st two teeth came in. Kylie was never like that.

hug.gif for Corey and some get well vibes too. hug.gif

Oh girl! I'm sooooo living in your shoes right now. My sweet little pumpkin has turned in a devil b/c of 6 teeth trying to come through all at once. wacko.gif UGH.
Two have started poking through, but the other four are just swollen and sore.

My heart goes out to ya.
hug.gif

There's another post that suggested frozen bagels and breadsticks to help the baby cut teeth. I'm going to try it as soon as I possibly can!! You might want to try it out too.

Do you ever fear terrible two's? laugh.gif If this is what they act like when they're cutting teeth, I just can't wait until the temper tantrums start. UGH rolleyes.gif

Actually, my older daughter wasn't a bad teether and her two's weren't too bad either. The three's?...well, I won't depress you. LOL
