I was thinking about something Karen mentioned to me...

Do you have play dates with kids the opposite sex? and do they usually work out well?
I know that caleb has more girl friends then boy friends, but we have all boy toys so would a girl enjoy a play date here?
would you find it weird if you got an invite to a play date from an 8yr old boy if you had an 8yr old girl?

Yes, but only a few and they are ones we've come to know real well. It seemed weird at first, but was just fine. One of Kylie's close friends is autistic and is a he happy.gif . She plays with him often. They both have playdates with the boy that is in Megan's class. They live close to my sitter, so they know him real well.

Ashley has a girl friend that she often has playdates with. Her friend has a brother that is a year older. Ashley plays more with the older brother than the girl her own age. So, while I have never officially set up a playdate with someone of the opposite gender, I wouldn't find it weird if I knew the Mom well and wanted to get together with the Mom or Ashley and this child were friends.

Before we moved, Colt's best friend was a girl and they played all the time at each others houses. They played mostly outside, but I think even if they'd played inside they would have found something to do.

I don't think it's weird...and don't think anything of it. Most of Macie's friends are boys, several of them have come over and they borrow Colt's stuff tongue.gif
