Ok, so I'll jump on this since I REALLY want to eat healthier and lose weight.

This will mainly be to keep track and make me accountable for what I eat.

So far today:
2 cups of coffee....1 with Latte creamer (90 calories) and one with liquid (35 calories) I quickly realized that my Latte creamer that I love so much will now become a "treat"!

1/2 a banana
few bites of grits as I was feeding Thomas (BAD BAD)

I'll try to only post at the end of the day and record EVERYTHING I eat but I wanted to start now while I had the courage!

wavey.gif Welcome aboard Naomi, every little step counts. I would be careful of only posting here once a day, unless you are writing it down throughout the day we can tend to forget things once the days end comes. I find that I keep a journal all day long on paper and then post a summary of what I have eaten. Those small bite, licks and tastes we take can really add up throught the day especially with a little one around to feed and care for. Have a great time here, we are all here to help and support you. smile.gif

Thank you both VERY MUCH! I do plan on keeping track on a sheet of paper and then posting later that night. But since I'm posting now I'll post what I just had for lunch. And let me tell you it was HARD to eat decently. Thomas really gave me a rough time this morning at my neighbors and I am an emotional eater so I really wanted to grab that King Cake Ice Cream but I ate:

-a few chips w/salsa at my neighbors
-a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with pepper jack cheese

This really will have to be baby steps for me because I just love food. It's hard for me to accept that I can't have cheese on my sandwich or I can't have chips with it....KWIM? So, one day at a time.

Tonight I'm baking some trout and we'll have some carrots with it and possibly some noodle side but I'll try not to eat that!

I know exactly where you're at, Naomi. I've been there, too. Baby steps...you'll get there. hug.gif Once you've made up your mind to change, it's all gravy from there. wink.gif You're in the right mindset, just make sure you always have a plan. thumb.gif

Glad you joined us! happy.gif wub.gif hug.gif

Well the fish I took out to cook last night was not defrosted enough to cook before DH left for work, and at the same time I was realizing that my neighbor called to invite Thomas and I over for dinner....sooo....let's just say she's pregnant and NOT on a diet, but that lasagna was oh so yummy! I won't go any further because it was BAD!

But today is a new day and the fish is defrosted so that's for dinner. And I'm going grocery shopping after I drop Thomas off at MDO so I'll have time to read labels and make healthy decisions!!!

Breakfast
1 c. coffee
2 scrambled eggs
1 piece of toast w/ 1 tsp peanut butter (all natural kind)

ETA: I did walk around the block yesterday (1/2 mile). I stopped to talk to a friend and when I realized it I didn't have time to do a second lap....but it's a start!

yes baby steps are the best for a long range change. Oh and if you love chips have you tried the 100 calorie packs or baked lays, still they the greates thign but it does work when I crave the chips and then I feel a bit less guilty. Or if you want to cut them out all together try fresh carrots or apples with your sandwich you get the cruch but not the bad stuff.

Well my turkey breast took longer than I expected to cook so I just ate a plain salad for lunch (lettuce, tomato, cucumber and a little bit of no good unripened avocado happy.gif ) And I just had a square of the dark chocolate bar DH brought me home the other night. I'm trying to have 1 square a day AT MOST...it's HARD!

I forgot to mention that AF is here and I feel I'm doing pretty good considering!

Grrr...I'm so hungry!!!! I had an apple, that did nothing to help so I just had a spoonful of peanut butter....it's starting to work...maybe some water will help.

Salad for lunch is not enough-unless you have chicken breast in it. You need some more protein. Peanut butter was a good choice. wink.gif 1 tbsp of peanut butter on a rice cake is a good, filling snack. thumb.gif

Are you having the turkey for dinner?

Yeah, I realized as I was posting why I was so hungry...no protein! I'm proud of my pb choice...go me!!!

I have to cook that fish so that's dinner....that and boiled carrots and DH and Thomas will have noodles as well...but I'll be good! I'll have the turkey on a salad tomorrow.

GOOD GIRL!!! thumb.gif

I'm so proud of you!!! hug.gif

I need to figure out what I want for dinner. I've been hungry today, too. tongue.gif But I'm hungry for pasta. *sigh* It's not that I want to cut it out of my diet completely b/c I know a little bit is okay, but if I fix it I won't stop eating it....I love it way too much. blush.gif

Ok, recap of the day

Breakfast:
2 scrambled eggs
1 slice of toast w/ 1 tsp pb
coffee

Snack
5 baby carrots

Lunch
salad
1 sq. dark chocolate

Snack
apple
spoonful of pb

Dinner
1 filet of baked trout
boiled carrots w/butter spray, salt, pepper and parsley
NO NOODLES, YAY!!!!!!!!! ok, well I tasted them and they weren't that good so that wasn't too hard! wink.gif

I'll probably have yogurt soon for dessert. Not a bad day if I do say so....for me anyway! I just have to work on drinking more water! and I'll have to resist that chocolate bar that's calling my name!

ETA: I plan on doing weigh in on Fridays so tomorrow I'll weigh myself. Although since I just weighed a couple days ago it probably won't change much.

So far today:

Breakfast 7:30
2 scrambled eggs
1 pack of grits w/1 tsp butter
coffee

Snack 11:00 (that's late for me, I normally am starving again by 10)
banana

Lunch
salad w/turkey breast, FF zesty Italian dressing
1 sq. dark chocolate

DH wants spaghetti for dinner but we have whole grain/wheat pasta and it's an organic sauce from Ragu (or we'll use Tim's mom's homemade sauce)

We just finished our spaghetti and I didn't over do it. We also had some grean beans. Now I just have to keep my mind off that chocolate in the fridge!

I was hungry around 4 but thankfully we took Thomas to jump at an indoor bounce house thingy so that took my mind off my hunger!
