I guess I'm a mean mom

UGH!!!

Mckaylee's friend M (the one I despise) came to spend the night last night. This was not a hang out with a friend and make popcorn sleepover..There was a soldier that died in the nearby town and her mom had to go take care of the family. Her mom asked if she could stay the night here so that she could spend the night out there and be there for the family the night before and today is the funeral. I said it was fine, but I had Mckaylee's choir performance Thurs night and she would have to go and she would have to realize its still a school night. The following is a list of things she did just yesterday and this morning.....I have never been so annoyed at a kid before..

*Her mom called me yesterday and said that all her stuff was packed for the sleepover by their front door and she would be over afterschool. She showed up at my house with a giant suitcase..like the kind you take on a plane..There were no clothes but her pajamas....and a GIANT AIR MATTRESS She said she would go to her house in the morning to get ready for school.

*She told Mckaylee to ask me if she could bring her dogs over here....UM NO...Her little dog is annoying as heck and barks constantly and she just got a new huge black lab. I told Mckaylee no, but we will go over frequently to let them out. Another thing that annoys me about her is that I hear her telling Mckaylee to ask me stuff all the time.

*I got McKaylee ready for her choir performance and Leithan wasn't feeling good so him and Russell decided to stay home. M said that we should drive so Macks hair doesn't get messed up... Um..its right up the street. I said we would walk and she complained the whole way about her legs hurting...

*She sat and talked smack about all the little girls in choir. One of her comments was "oh God no, I know that girl and not in a good way"....She said they don't get along....Perhaps its because she is a bit of a brat.

*In the middle of the performance she says "Miss Brianne, Do you ever think you go overboard on things". I answer "probably" and she doesn't elaborate....WTH? Hello stupid random thought. I think she was trying to refer to my strictness with Mckaylee....If she only knew that I make up half the "rules" for Mckaylee because Mckaylee just doesn't want to play with her. I "ground" Mckaylee alot so that she doesn't have to play with M.

*We had biscuits and gravy for dinner and I asked if she liked them before serving . Her answer was just "no".....crickets . She said that she would just eat a bunch of biscuits .

* I was getting ready to get the kids their drinks for dinner and she asked what I had...I said milk or water. She asks "what kind of milk"....I really wanted to respond with "the kind you put in your mouth and swallow", but I refrained and said "whole". I'm pretty darn annoyed at this point.

*She asks me if I have any large sheets for her air mattress..I don't because all my stuff is in storage still. She then asks if I have 2 twin sheets...again the answer is no. She then says "I suppose I will just have to improvise".....Seriously?

*At about 8 I tell all the kids that they need to turn the tv off and start getting ready for bed. They have tv's in their rooms so they usually put in a movie and watch till they pass out. M is mad because she wants to play xbox360. She doesn't tell me she is mad, but Mckaylee says she wants to go home because she thinks its boring here. I tell her that she has to call and talk about that with her mom. I didn't hear anything after that so I guess she decided to stay. This sleepover was not for fun...its still a school night.

*This girl refused to go to sleep. I told them numerous times to get to sleep and found them still awake. I know it wasn't Mckaylee because she wanted to go to bed.

*at about 11:30 she sent Mckaylee to ask me what my thermastat was set at because she was burning up... I told Mckaylee to tell her that it was set at comfortable for our family. It was actually kind of cooler then normal. Mckaylee mumbled that maybe she should take her jackets and sweats off...

*this morning when I woke them up her first response was "I barely got any sleep"....Well maybe you should have thought about the first couple times I told you to go to bed because its a school night Sherlock.

This morning she finally got up and rolled her jumbo suitcase back to her house. She left and didn't say anything to me which was fine by me. When I got back from taking Russ to the bus stop Mckaylee asked my why I didn't tell her ahead of time that M was spending the night . She said that M told her that I was mean and her mom was super nice. . I asked Mckaylee what I was mean about and she said she had no clue...M is annoying and I could have been alot meaner... . She said that M actually called her mom from her phone in Macks room and cried because she missed her and my house was boring. She also said she kept complaining about the temperature, but kept putting on my clothes. Mckaylee said she kept messing with her phone and Mack asked her to turn it off and she wouldn't. I guess I'm just a mean mom because my kids are suppose to go to bed on a school night...as opposed to her mom who takes her to hollywood on a school night and then lets her skip the next day. This little girl has already missed about 10 days of school when she wasn't sick and I just don't play that game. I was not mean and kept my cool, but I did follow our origional routine.

As I was typing this M just knocked on the door to see if Mack wanted to walk to school with her and Mckaylee said said she was walking with her friend Kaylie. I said why don't you all walk together and Mckaylee said it was because Kaylie doesn't like M....



My nerves are shot today...that was just some of what went on....I need a drink. guess you just have to be there to understand it.

Sheesh! That girl sounds like a real pill. I'm sorry you had to put up with her! Will her mom be back tonight or is she staying with you again? Poor McKaylee... I hope she makes it through the day ok after not getting much sleep last night!

I have a real hard time with other peoples kids.

Me too. Makes it hard, too, because there is one lady I really enjoy spending time with, but I can't tolerate her kids even for a second. I don't know if it's because they are boys or what.

This little one sounds like a gem.....
