I remember being younger and at home sick watching soap operas with my mom..and a lot of other shows..
I still watch those shows. side note : I think it is so funny with the soaps that no one ages, kids grow at lightning speed, and people are interbreeding. anyhow I think it's so funny that Mya is really into my shows..Greys and what not..i tend to watch her cartoons too. Icarly is my favorite.. are there any shows you are into that your kids watch with you and watch even on their own? game shows? cartoons? -------------------- Mya 7-1-00 |

I don't tend to let Ashley watch any of the shows that I like yet, but I do watch some of the ones she likes with her: Zach and Coty, Wizards of Wavery Place. I do like Good Luck Charlie, I think that show is cute. We watch some game shows together: Cash Cab or 1 VS 100, and we used to watch the one with the "brain drain" but I forget the name of it (guess it drained my brain, LOL).
I remember watching the soaps, I remember when I was in high school, I'd rush home not to miss General Hospital. -------------------- |

I watch the Disney shows that Dee Dee mentioned.
On occasion my girls have been in the room when I'm watching All My Children. They'll ask why is she crying, etc and then I'll turn it off. My sitter and her children (older teens then) watched soaps all the time so when we were not in school and were there we'd watch them to. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

no soaps in this house haha they are SOOOOOOO dumb and the acting is horrible!
I like Grey's and shows like that but I do NOT watch those with my kids in the room VERY inapropriate. BUT we do watch American Idol, sometimes SYTYCD (except it is starting to become a little inapropriate) 19kids and counting, Sometimes I will let them watch the Doctors with me. And I LOVE those disney shows.. Icarley is our favorite, sometimes Jeremiah and I will watch that one by ourselves.... -------------------- |

Jeff and I have been watching Zack and Cody since before Avery was even born and we both love! I do think the Suite Life on Deck is much better than the original though We also watch Wizards and Good Luck Charlie! Although I will admit I hate some of the clothes the girls wear on those shows.
The adult shows I watch are totally inappropriate for Avery so no, she does not watch those but she does watch Minute to Win it and American Idol. -------------------- Life is an incredible journey that is only enhanced by the people you share it with. ~ Rev Run |

Oh.. forgot, you all reminded me..... we do tape American Idol and watch it all together the next day. (It comes on too late on a school night) Ashley doesn't normally watch the first part where they show all the weird auditions but from this point on she'll watch the show with us.

Dh and I will sit and watch iCarly, Suite Life and Good Luck Charlie sometimes with Will. But there isn't much of anything we watch that he's allowed to - too much sex, drugs, etc. Yeah, we watch trash tv!

since we don't have cable we aren't exposed to a lot of shows, we only get Fox, abc, cbs and nbc, pbs. My kids don't watch prime time tv, to much stuff I don't care to have them exposed to. When we do watch TV, a lot of times it will be PBS, nova /educational type stuff that we get on netflix, I don't really have a problem with them watching that type of stuff. They really only get about an hour or so of TV a week tho. unless we watch a movie we have rented

We watch Idol, Survivor, What Not to Wear, the wedding dress show (can't remember the name), Chopped, that kind of stuff. She likes all the typical stuff that kids her age are into, but I can't stomach it. If it's on and I'm in the room, I'm usually on the ipad or grading papers.
