and I have to be on meds for 6 more weeks and hopefully that's it. He changed my prescription from Prilosec to something else (can't remember the name) because I didn't like the side effects I was having from it. I had gas constantly and diarrhea too. Sorry tmi. wacko.gif blush.gif I'm on day 2 of this new med and not near as much issues, but still having some. sleep.gif So I take this new med for 6 weeks, then be off the meds for 6 weeks and then go back and see him. If I have no stomach issues then I'm free of the meds. thumb.gif

The only thing is I have to agree to never take Motrin again because that is what caused my problems. He said if I wanted to take Motrin the rest of my life I'd have to take the stomach meds the rest of my life. I agreed to stay away from Motrin. tongue.gif

Well 6 weeks isn't TOO much longer!! Hopefully this new stuff will do the trick! I can totally feel your pain (literally) w/the stomach problems. I actually had to have surgery, and I'd say it was only about 80% effective (which is a lot better then 0%!!!)

I hope this new medication does the trick for you and you are pill free.

If you don't mind me asking, what were you taking the motrin for? Will this new meds solve that problem as well?

Keep us posted on how you are doing. hug.gif

I was taking motrin a lot (too much) for migraines. My regular doctor put me on a preventive med for the migraine and a narcotic for the pain of it.
