sad.gif I haven't had a chance to post this until now. Spencer has been complaining that his mouth was sore. This has been going on for about 4 days now. Well Friday the inside of his right cheek started swelling, so we've been putting ice packs on it and lots of tylenol to ease the pain. Well this morning the outside of his cheek was swollen and he was just crying in pain. So I had DH drop us off at the ER before they went to church. Luckily we didn't have to wait long and we were only there for 2 1/2 hours. He has an abscess on his cheek. So the doctor has prescribed penysillin for him, he has to take it twice a day for 10 days. She also said only soft foods, and popsicles for the next few days. It's been a very rough evening. After we were finised at the ER we went to my inlaws for brunch and Spencer wanted to stay there to watch a movie. Well they arrived at our house at 5:00 and Spencer was just screaming in pain. He said his ears hurt. So I had him lye down in the chair in the living room (I was hoping that our company would move and let him stretch out on the couch), then I warmed up our magic bag and tried to get him to take his antibiotics. Well he wasn't having any part of that and he wouldn't take the tylenol either. After much fighting with him, he finally did take both. He hates medicine, always has. So he was finally settled upstairs in my room watching TV and we were going to sit down to dinner and he started screaming again. So I sat up there with him and my friend was the only one he would let relieve me so I could eat. He didn't want his Nana (my mom), he didn't want his dad, it was just mommy and my friend. My poor boy, I've never heard him cry this bad before. Well then I tried to give him Advil, OMG that was a mistake, he spit it out all over himself. I had to give him a bath, but that really helped to calm him, he spent 45 minutes just lying in the tub. He seems to be doing okay now, I just gave him his antibiotics and tylenol, so hopefully he will get some sleep tonight. sad.gif

Poor little guy! I hope he starts feeling better soon. What an Easter! How long did they say it would take for the meds to really kick in and him to feel normal? Hopefully it won't be too long!

sad.gif Well it's going to be a rough night! He just woke up screaming so loud that he woke up Claudia. He is refusing to take the advil, so I've sent him down to the basement! He is being so stubborn, I just don't understand why he won't take the medicine! I can hear him screaming and crying and I don't know what to do! sad.gif

bawling.gif Oh no, poor little guy! Can you put his meds in his food or drink?

I have never heard of an abcess in someone's cheek? What causes it? Is it from his tooth?

I hope you are able to get some meds in him so that he starts feelign better. grouphug.gif

dry.gif He won't eat it if he even thinks it's in his food. A friend of mine figures that when he bit his cheek a week and a half ago it got infected. He has had abscesses before so this isn't anything new. His reaction to taking the medicine shocks me. Yes he would fight it before, but usually he would take it. ohmy.gif

Thanks everyone! DH said that finally at 1:00 Spencer came up from the basement and agreed to take the advil. He's been sleeping every since. I on the other hand have been waking up most of the night to hear him, if he needed me. We'll see how the day goes today.
