She is a certified personal trainer and the gym we attend just called her to audition to teach classes. She auditions on Thursday for the Strong class (barbells). This happens to be my favorite class. I can't wait to show up Thursday to support her. She is such a GREAT instructor. (she's been a fitness instructor for 21 years). redbounce.gif

Very cool! thumb.gif

Barbells huh? That sounds a bit like beefing up. Is that an all women or co-ed class? huh.gif

It can be co-ed, but a lot of men prefer to lift their weights on the floor. The purpose of the strong class is to get you comfortable on the weights so you will feel confident when you lift out on the floor and know what you are doing.

It's not for 'beefing' up. laugh.gif It's light weights with a lot of repetition. Which is how it should be, btw. Lots of repition...you need to fatigue those muscles between each set to get the most benefit.

I just find it to be really interesting and after a couple of classes I noticed a lot of definition in my arms. My arms aren't skinny so any exercise that will build muscle (and burn off the chub emlaugh.gif ) I'm all in favor for. biggrin.gif

Ok, now I get it. happy.gif When you said the word barbells I think of big muscular men with barbells (you know way back when visions of men with actual barbells). laugh.gif

The word barbell and women just doesn't mesh well with me....light weights....I can see.....barbells seems manly. tongue.gif

But I do see what you are saying. thumb.gif
