My son is now 4 months old and he was born with ectrodactyly-cleft foot (his feet has only big toe and little toe with a cleft in between). and we have no family history of ectrodactyly.
one Doctor suggest us to do surgery for him to close his cleft at his 10th month of age before walking. Another doctor suggest us not to do any surgery until his 10th year of age as doing surgery may affect his walking. Could anyone please suggest me, whether you/your child/your relatives or friends with this anomaly has undergone surgery for closing the cleft? If so, at which age they did surgery and whether they face any other complications after treatment like problem in walking? Please help. |
