My husband suspects I have PPD. I feel tired all the time, I'm always yelling at him, at the dog, and worst I've yelled at my daughter. When I'm not angry I'm sad, I'll just want to curl up in bed and cry until I fall asleep.

But, I'm not sure if it is PPD, because I have a lot of reasons to be depressed... The most recent being that after my Rose was born I hemorrhaed and had to have a hysterectemy. Now I'm a 19 year old girl and I know I can never have a baby again...

hug.gif I am so sorry hun.

Sounds like you may have depression. I have bi-polar disorder and anxiety issues. The first step you can take is to contact your Dr. Go in and tell them how you are feeling, and then you have a lot of options on where to go from there. You can try medications, you can meet with a counselor, or you can do both. I know its hard to make those first steps, but I did and I am so glad I did. Just remember, things will get better. Hang in there, and if you ever need to talk, PM me hug.gif

OMG! I am so sorry. You are to young to have to go through that. sleep.gif I went through some pretty serious PPD and so I BTDT. It is a horrible place to be stuck in. You should really think about going to talk to someone, a therapist or your doc. It may be just to much for you right now.

Just a little bit of help and you can enjoy your new daughter so much more.

can you get on family health plus or Medicaid? I dunno what state you are in but here in NY there are a lot of programs for people who can't afford health care. Carly and I are on Medicaid because Carl's company won't cover me until we are married. Even then. he makes so little, I don't know if we will be able to afford it.

That's the second time someone told me about medicaid, but I thought that onyl covered pregnant women or children. If so I really need it, I have to find out if my hemorrhage was because ((as my doctor claims)) a neuromuscular disorder, or ((as I think)) him rushing the labor.

nope, Medicaid covers you and your baby, and possibly your husband if he has no insurance. You have to go to your county building and apply. They will need proof of income and birth certificates and social security cards for everyone applying - then you will have an interview with a case worker. You have to re-certify every year.

While medicaid is mostly free if you qualify, there are some downsides. You may be discriminated against by Dr's, because Medicaid does not pay them as well as other forms of insurance - it can be hard to find Drs who accept it. Also, you may be treated differently because you are on medicaid. Unfortunately, many people abuse medicaid and those who truly need it, suffer the consequences. I've had nurses and office manages be professional and nice to me, and then treat me like the scum of the earth once they saw my card. It sucks.

Also, it can be hard to find specialists that will take Medicaid. I desperately need to have my tonsils taken out due to an abcess and chronic infections, and can't find anyone who will take me, because Medicaid doesn't pay as much as other insurances. But it is a godsend for my daughter and me!

I'd check into medicaid but in the meantime, go to your county health department. you can be seen for very low cost, if not free (I had to pay $10 when I was going).

It does sound like some sort of depression. I reaslized I had a problem when I basically threw a tantrum with my 3 y/o at the time. I was furious and out of control over some stupid stuffed animals. I said some hurtful things to her and I'm sure I looked like a monster in my anger. I could tell she was freaked out but I coudn't stop myself.

I'm on meds for it now and I'm proud to report that while I still get angry, I'm able to control myself way better and I've not flown off the handle again.

hug.gif hug.gif oh no I'm so sorry!!! I agree though it sounds like you do have some depression (which btw is understandable after everything you have been through on top of the harmones still trying to get back to normal). I think you need to talk to your dr before it gets worse!! hug.gif hug.gif

hug.gif hug.gif I'm so sorry to hear about the way you are feeling! It must be hard for you to accept all the changes in your life. Everyone on this board are very supportive and I'm really glad that you felt you could share your story with everyone! My suggestion would be to first take one of the PPD tests in the Post Partum Depression section. Then I would recommend going to see your doctor. My heart goes out to you! Be gentle to yourself, talk things one day at a time and remember that we are always here for you! hug.gif hug.gif

I have no idea what you must be going through... I'm very sorry.

But, I can tell you I've been through PPD with both my boys. It's hard... just be sure to get some help - or atleast some rest - that makes a huge difference.
