Yesterday at my basic training class I pulled an ab muscle and it hurts to breathe or move bawling.gif I have never pulled this muscle before and don't know how to baby it. With other muscles you just rest and elevate, but what in the world do I do for my abs? Honestly, it hurts so bad that after Alec comes home from preschool, I'm taking a muscle relaxant so that I can have a few pain free moments.

OH NO sad.gif

Maybe icing it some will help, I've read it's a good thing to do for the first 48 hrs for strains... unsure.gif

Just try to rest as much as possible!

Ab muscles...I did that once. Heat (heating pad or jacuzzi), followed by ice. Mostly rest. In a couple of days light and I mean light! stretching. The problem is, we use ab muscles in everything from lifting to answering phone to sneezing...just about everything we do. Just try to rest and use heat and then ice. It sorta worked for me.

Good luck and hang in there greenapple.gif

Well, all the muscle relaxant did was knock me out. I'll put a heat pad on. Maybe that will help. Time to get my yoga tape out for stretching.
