I went to the gym today with my new friend. As we were heading back to the front, the supervisor comes up to us and says that she needs to advise us that there's a scent restriction at the gym because of allergies and that a lady had to leave the cardio room because our perfume was causing her to have a reaction and she couldn't breathe.

Ok, #1, I didn't have perfume on, only a lightly powder scented deoderant.
and #2, She wasn't even on our side of the cardio room, she was in the other section where other ladies were, so how was it us???

I honestly only had the deoderant on as did my friend.

At least I didn't smell like BO. rolling_smile.gif

I would have told her, "thanks for the info, however, I do not have any perfume on at this time".

I do understand the issue though. I have been at the gym doing cardio and had someone come close to me wearing a lot of perfume/cologne and I can honestly say I had to stop my workout as it was affecting my breathing. Not all scents bother me, but certain ones do and it isn't that I just don't like them, they actually constrict my airway a bit making it very uncomfortable. If it is one of the scents my body reacts to, I can usually smell it from across the room but it doesn't actually start choking me (so to speak) until the offender draws closer.

I hear what you're saying there. I have same problems with perfumes, the more expensive ones at that. Guess I'm allergic to money rolling_smile.gif
