I was Dx with PCOS with insulin resistance. Some PCOS'ers do get false +OPK's, but I don't, and they work well for me to give me a heads-up when to expect O, then the charting will confirm when O happens. I like it because I can plan when to have date nights with DH.
I usually use Baby Wishes, but there's use early-pregnancy-tests. com, or buy them off of eBay or Amazon. Try Googling cheap pregnancy tests, and a bunch of sites come up. Do you take Metformin? I do, and it's eally helped me. I've lost 40 lbs. since starting it. I plan on staying on it indefinitely. I stopped it when I got pregnant, and it might've had a factor in the M/C, but I don'tknow that for sure, so next time I plan on staying on it throughout the pregnancy. -------------------- |

oh wow, it's nice to hear that someone knows what I'm going through with this pcos crap, even though I wouldnt want anyone to have it. It has made my life hell the last 7 years.
I admit I'm not very good at staying on metformin, but the weight loss is a motivator to stay on it. I'm kind of scared of staying on it the entire pregnancy. A friend of mine did and she ended up having a 11 pound 8 ounce baby. She had normal sized babies before then. I do stay on it through the first tri though. I have heard of early-pregnancy-tests.com and will look into it in the next couple days. It would be nice to be able to learn my body instead of guessing all the time. I have PCOS too, but actually ovulate on my own, to the surprise of my docs. I was put on metformin for a while, and I lost weight, but the gastro side effects killed me. Does it bother you the same way?

Yes it does. I can eat lettuce and would have a tore up stomach . I was put on just 1000 a day; was taking 2500 at one point.
Congrats on your new baby coming! This post has been edited by youngmomofone on Jun 25 2010, 03:41 PM -------------------- |

Faint line is a line though. My line w/Isabelle was super faint, but it was there! My friend Kate never did test positive w/her daughter. She took a test just for laughs when she was 6 months pregnant and it was STILL negative. So make sure you're sure its negative.... Edited to say: just finished reading the entire post Sorry about the negative This post has been edited by grapfruit on Jun 27 2010, 05:40 PM -------------------- |
