I know this thread has probably been done before. But i figure i'd give it a shot anyway.
Ok, so heres the situation. About 3 wks ago, i was intimate with my BF and about 5 minutes into it, the condom broke. (Keep in mind he wasnt even near finishing yet). My question is, how likely is it that i may have got pregnant? My AF is a couple of days late. So i decided to take a PG test last night. The results were negative. Yet, STILL no AF. My cycles have been weird since i had my son (who is now 1 & 1/2). They can last anywhere from 28 -33 days). It has been about 37 days now. If i got PG due to that situation that happened over 3 wks ago...wouldnt my HCG levels be high enough now to have shown a positive test result? (assuming i'm PG of course). And because the test DID show a negative result, can i assume that i'm NOT PG? I'm a little worried due to the fact that i'm a single mother. I left my son's father over a year ago due to it becoming an abusive relationship and i'm now living at my parents house until i can get back on my feet. There is NO WAY i can have another child right now. I have been really careful when it comes to sex since i had my son. Always made sure that protection was used. Yet, with my luck something like this happens and now i'm extremely stressed out. If i AM PG, it wont be received well at all, and i'll have to move. Anyone have a similiar situation to this? Any help would be appreciated. -------------------- "I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it."

Well I have two things to tell you. One, because you are a little stressed over this it may be causing your AF to be late. I know when I am stressed I am always late. However, when I got pg with my first, the first test was negative and then two days later I took another and it was positive. Hope everything turns out ok for you. Good luck

I have another test that i'm going to take tomorrow. So we shall see! *crosses fingers*.
I've been having slight cramping all week and today my boobs are getting a little sore. But i realize that could be a sign of either my AF ..OR..PG. This post has been edited by c0mplexual on Jul 2 2005, 05:54 PM -------------------- "I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it."

If you ovulated later in your cycle, which can happen due to stress, etc, then your af would come later. If it was more than 3 weeks ago, it is likely that it would already show up on a preg test, but it might not. I would wait a few days and test again.
It is also possible that you just didn't ovulate this cycle, which also sometimes happens, especially if your cycles can vary in length. In that case, you may go awhile before you start af, with neg pregnancy tests of course. Eventually your body would restart on it's own, and you'll get af, or you would have to see a dr to help it restart. (A lot of women with polycystic ovary syndrome have this happen) Try not to worry, and I hope you get the result you want! -------------------- Michelle

Thanks for your replies everyone!
I know that i'm probably just being paranoid here. Given the fact that all i'm going on is a possibility of some "pre-ejaculate" getting loose somehow. I know the percentage of pregnancies due to pre-cum is very small. But in my mind its HUGE! (Don't you just LOVE when your mind goes a mile a minute?). This is the first time i've ever heard of just outright not ovulating! I guess you learn new things everyday huh? As far as i know, i dont have any medical "conditions" that would cause such a thing to happen. Is missing ovulation really that commen? Can it happen to just anyone? Or only to women that have such a condition? (yes i know, i'm just FULL of questions lol). At any rate, i'll be taking another test either tomorrow or the next day. I'll keep everyone posted! -------------------- "I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it."

I'm glad to hear that all is well!
As for missing ovulation, it can happen to anyone, but it also happens to women with certain medical conditions. My ob says it's normal for a woman to skip ovulating one month every once in a while (like once a year, or a couple of years)- it can be the body's way of dealing with certain problems it is facing, or maybe an egg that just wasn't right. Who knows really! But I'm glad it all worked out for you! -------------------- Michelle
