This was discussed in great length on another breastfeeding board I frequent. It was on CNN last night and all over the papers. This whole study makes me so angry!!!!! The study is very one-sided. They only tested 20 women thru out US, so it was only a very small study. Also, this chemical is found in water which cows drink and runs off on soybean fields. Formula is made with some form of cows milk and soybeans, along with other things. They should have tested formula fed babies as well. I bet they find just as much of a trace of the chemical in babies who were formula fed as well.

As long as we are eating meat, we all are going to get tons of chemicals in us. Okay, off my soapbox. I just can't believe they did such a one-sided small scale study and then put a huge scare out yesterday just to get people's attention.

I think chemicals will be everywhere regardless of what you eat...

Morbid joke here that my DH said last night - don't read on if you get offended easily...

*but on the up-side...I guess people are getting more and more fire-proof...*

ha ha. When we moved into our house we got a letter from the city that our tap water has high levels of perchlorate in it and we were intending to drink bottled water anyway but I was PG and very concerned about it...we only make Iain's bottles with the bottled water and I only drink bottled spring water, but I am concerned when he drinks some bath water.

I agree, what about testing the FF babies? There are all kinds of chemicals in the formula--it isn't organic!!
