Last night Megan came into our bedroom sobbing and pulling on her ear. I assumed that she had an ear infection, gave her some tylenol, and made her a bed on our floor where she went right to sleep. This morning I expected her to still be bothered by it and to need to take her to the clinic to get some antibiotics but she is fine. Could it have just been an ear ache minus the infection? Do kids even get just plain ear aches? I feel stupid for not knowing but I am really confused because she really is fine today.

The ear that Cassie's just been sleeping on sometimes hurts her when she has a cold coming on . . . it could be that? If ithappens again I'd take her to the doctor's xx

She is just getting over a cold and that's why I suspected an infection. I guess I'll just keep an eye on her and if it happens again tonight I'll bring her in tomorrow.

Kylie had done something similar to this a few weeks ago. She's now on 22 days of this nasty cold/cough combo and a week or so ago while having this same cold she would cry and say her ear aches. She did that for about 2 days then never said anything about it again. When we went to the doc he said there was nothing wrong with them.
So it could "just be". That annoys me to say that but I've concluded with this sickness Kylie's had that anything goes. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

It could have been congestion....if she had a cold, the fluid just builds up and kinda affects the whole head in one way or another. I have bronchitis - and my right ear was killing me...when the doctor looked he said it was filled with water from everything else going on. Keep checking her temp.
