How much fruit do your kids eat? I have a hard time getting my kids to eat fruit. They like fruit flavored foods so they must like the taste, and they love juice. I really want them to be healthy so I keep trying to find ways to make them eat it. Flavored applesauce even didn't even work. Have you seen those new Super Fruit cups by Del Monte? Anybody ever try them before? I think I may have found a way to slip my kids fruit. LOL!. It's like pear or peach chunks soaked in juice, so you can eat it and drink it. One of the ones with pear is soaked in blackberry juice so it looks all purple and cool and kid-appealing. I actually want to try it myself.

If they like fruit flavored foods but not actual fruit i wonder if it is the sugar in the foods they will eat that they are attracted to. In my experience fruit flavored things rarely taste like the actual fruit.
Mine LOVE fruit, but I severely limit all snack foods that they get, so really fruit is the best option for them. Sure beats pretzels. Maybe you could try something like yogurt that has actual fruit in it, Then move on to getting vanilla yogurt and making yogurt parfaits, where you put your own sliced fruit in, top with granola. Yummy! |

I have to agree, most "fruit flavored" snacks have a lot of sugar in them... some but not all.
Have you tried making a dip to dip the fruit in. I have a recipe for a strawberry flavored fruit dip that is yummy. We usually make fruit kabobs too... the dip and the kabobs makes it a little more fun. I haven't triend the Super Fruit cups that you are talking about. I'm always leary of giving fruit in those little plastic cups after I read that the baby food plastic cups were leaking dangerous chemicals into the baby food and those fruit cups are made of the same kind of plastic. -------------------- |

Those are some good ideas. I will have to give them a try. Wish me luck . . . As far as the plastic, I know what you're saying, but not all plastic has the same levels as baby bottles. There's a number on the bottom of plastic bottles and you can find a chart online if you Google it that will tell you what numbers are safe and which are toxic. Not sure what # is on the superfruit, but know that some of the fruit I've seen from Del Monte is in glass jars, not plastic cups, if you want to try it. |

fruit is good for child.fruits act as natural laxatives, helping to regulate the digestion process of your body. And, they provide dietary fiber and fiber is important to help your body get rid of waste.

One of my favorite ways for adding fruit and even vegetables to the diet is with those V8 splash drinks. One serving size has a serving of fruit and vegetables! They are kind of expensive, but it seems to be the best way to get those foods into their diet.

They can eat vegetables instead of fruit.
