How long after having your baby... did it take for you to start haveing AF....?
I Had Mason Jan. 2nd, stoped bleeding within 2 or 2 1/2 weeks.... Had a light AF in mid Feb. then nothing in March.... I took a test, nothing..... well then mid April I had 3 days of light spotting.... I stoped my bc late March, due to running out.... From mid April to last week we had unpertected sex.... then started using condums..... I have been feeling sick... to my tummy, but no tenderness.... I should have had AF 2 days ago.... should I keep waitting or take a HPT....? -------------------- Ivy(24), SAHM to Mason Ray(3) and Mikel Melvin-Jay(10 months)

Are you nursing? I know that I had this problem while I was nursimg ny daughter and then AF got thrown off again about 3 months after she weaned. I would take an HPT just in case though.

Not sure if you're BF, but I read this in a book last night....
"Women who have just delivered a child may find that after the initial lochia has stopped, they have an episode of spotting at about 6 weeks postpartum. It's usually due to the withdrawal of hormones that had been circulating at high levels when the woman was pregnant. In addition, while breastfeeding, hormone levels can fluctuate due to the varying needs of the baby. Because of this temporary hormonal imbalance, breastfeeding women may experience a number of anovulatory spottings." Your light AF in February and April were probably just spotting as described above..not sure. I weaned Wil at about 6 months and got my period in the 7 month. It was a full blown AF which lasted longer than usual. Heavy bleeding. I'm on day 36 this month and still no AF, so I'm in the same boat, but I tested today and it's negative. Could just mean our cycles are still off and we're having anovulatory cycles. I would probably take a test to be sure...let us know! -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01
