my entire family was over for dinner last night, ( sister and parents) so we decided to tell them our big news.
I was really not looking forward to it. My mom reacted just as I thought she would, with this look of ' OMG , what were you thinking!" look on her face, which made me feel just fantabulous, and my dad took it pretty well. He seemed happy. My mom is in shock. She is notorious for reacting poorly tho. Her reaction when I told her I was getting married was " Sell S***, now what?!" and she really likes DH. When we got done with that, we told DH's parents, who were appropriately surprised and excited. thank goodness we have at least one pair that is fun. Its a little early, I really wanted to wait till we saw a Dr to do a blood test and confirm things a bit, but it was just a really good time to do it. it still feels surreal to me. like it isn't really happening, and we are just making it up for attention. Maybe I need to go pee on another stick to re- confirm or something. LOL my 1st apt is Sept. 2 |

we haven't told the kids yet. We are going to wait until at least Halloween or so, I want to be further along, and to be showing a bit so it is more tangeable for them, and for the risk of icky things to go down, so I don't have to explain why the baby isn't coming any more or anything like that .

Well I'm glad at least the in-laws were happy for you! And all of us, are, as well, so we cancel out the negative reaction from your parents, right!?!?
I can kind of understand wanting to wait to tell the kids. We told Will later the same morning I told Ron, but we're just like that. We can't keep anything a secret around here, esp not for 2-3 months! I hope your appt comes quickly for you! I know I felt like I wasn't "really" pregnant until the doctors pee test came back positive! -------------------- |

I'm so sorry your parents acted that way
Dh's parents are so sticking excited. Mine, on the other hand, acts like I'm still 18 years old. My dad is pissed off that he doesn't hardly talks to me....still. My mom has been excited from the beginning but she doesn't show it around my dad. -------------------- |
