Well, I'm jumping on the bandwagon here as a few things have happened lately that I just can't deny:

1. My clothes are getting too tight
2. My sister took a picture of me that made me realize how awful I look
3. My annual trip to the Dr. revealed I have gained OVER 30 POUNDS in the last year. ohmy.gif (actually, hearing that, I'm surprised my clothes weren't too tight months ago - they are the same clothes I was wearing a year ago!)

So I stepped on the scale this morning and saw...203.8. Yikes! I've always been fat, but never over 200 lb.

The plan is: cut out all beverages except water (and the occasional milk, and VERY occasional alcohol socially), 1500 calorie diet or so, and start with 15 min of exercise daily and work my way up.

I think I'm going to set mini-goals of 5 lb every 2 weeks and see how that works to keep me motivated. Dieting before was always about the big picture and I'd get discouraged.

I'm going to be a little more ambitious with my first goal though, since I know cutting out the soda will make a pretty big difference and there's always the water weight at first. So my first goal is 195 by August 31st - 8.8 lb in 11 days.

Thanks ladies!

I did okay today - closer to 1700 calories (after I eat dinner which is cooking, and I have a granola bar set aside for my snack later) but for a first day when I hadn't shopped healthy, not bad.

3/4 of a gallon of water so far. No exercise yet, but it's easier to get that in after the kids are asleep.

And to keep me motivated....the hideous picture that started it all!

Today...not bad. I am home sick, so I know I won't eat as much as normal - I've only had breakfast so far and it's almost 5. I did drink a coke though, since I have a terrible headache and caffeine usually helps that.

Scale this morning said 201.4 - 6.4 lb to go to goal #1!

200.8 this morning.

Not terrible on food today - around 1700 again. I need to eat more veggies.

And I had soda again. That's going to be one of the hardest things.

Argh...I have been terrible about updating this! But I have stuck to the diet pretty well, and my goal for today was 195. I weighed in at 195.2, so I'm happy with that. thumb.gif

Next goal: 190 by Sept 14th.
