They're not new, but have you read The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns? Both really awesome books.

I have read a few lately, but only one comes to mind (although they all were good). The one I REALLY loved lately and is a different book for me is The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. About the Salem witches - fiction (but has a little truth to it). It was such a great book that I gave it to my co-worker to read and she loved it too.
I'm reading Fannie Flagg's Can't Wait to Get to Heaven right now and I like it too, just haven't has as much time to read it. I remember the other one now, it was Mermaids in the Basement -a really cute fun read. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

If you like vampires, you'd probably like the House of Night series. I liked City of Bones, but City of Glass and City of Ashes were better. The Looking Glass Wars series is now complete, I had to wait 4 months between book 2 and 3. It's like a different take on Alice in Wonderland.

The Giver by Lois Lowry.
Has anyone read it? If not, you should. It is not a long read, and it is very thought provoking. I would love to discuss it if anyone has read it. |
