My SIL has a friend from child hood. Her friends friend went in for a scheduled ultrasound because she was feeling no movements. She was 32 weeks along. When they went in it was confirmed... baby had died. She was induced and delivered a still born baby girl. They discovered the cause was the placenta detached. And because the cervix had a blockadge she didn't have signs of bleeding. If there was no blockadge then she would of started to bleed and then they would of rushed her in and discovered this and delivered the baby. So they are upset and finding it hard to handle ... to know this baby was a perfectly healthy baby and if she showed the bleeding then they would of had a healthy baby in thier arms. Its so sad to hear that things like this can happen:(

I had a friend who had the exact same scenario several years ago. The detachment blocked the cervix and kept the bleeding to internal. So very sad. Saying a prayer for your SIL's friend. sad.gif

This very thing happened to my brother and his ex girlfriend (Timmy's Mom). She went in for a routine ultrasound and they couldn't find a heartbeat. She had to deliver their baby girl and when she was born they were shocked...she had to have been dead in her stomach for a couple months. She had no bleeding and had routine checkups and the doctor always said he heard the heartbeat...it must have been her heartbeat because the baby had stopped growing long before. I'm suprised she didn't get septic or something.
