I feel so sorry for my daycare provider who has been trying to have kids for 10 years with smaller procedures, but can't afford IVF and her insurance doesn't cover it. Then others can do it and the tax payers pay for all of it in the end. sleep.gif

What? You don't want to make a donation? tongue.gif

Scotty is obsessed with this story--he talks about it all the time and gives me all the updates.

It's such an unfair society we live in.

I'm just so sadden about our society and how it works. You know. I watch my daycare provider do all this crap to her body, shots, etc to help her get pg and they go into debt just doing all that. Then they can't get IVF unless they'll shell out the money themselves and it's no guaranty it will work the first time. She just wants a baby so bad, more so she wants to be pregnant so bad. Since insurance doesn't cover and she did the procedure she'd end up losing her house, cars, etc to pay for it, KWIM? Where as others who do things like this woman did now will have the taxpayers paying the hospital bills, nothing will be taken away from her because she doesn't really have anything. How fair is that????

They showed pictures of her house on the news and it was disgusting. It was just plain gross. It's one thing to not have a lot of money for things, but it's another thing to be dirty. It doesn't cost anything to clean your house. I try not to judge others but I just can't imagine bringing those babies home into that filth. bawling.gif

Karen,
Has your DCP ever considered a surrogate?

No, and my only assumption is that she wants to BE pregnant. Which I can see, I'm sure we all can. And I think she hates going down that road without trying all other avenues including IVF which she can't do for financial reasons. Maybe some day she'll do that, who knows. This past weekend at a party we were both at, mothers were talking about having more kids and I was asked if I was going to have more and I said NO WAY tongue.gif and she said to me "that's ok, you can have one for me". I was shocked because it came so out of left field. Then I was selfish because I know I couldn't do it. I just couldn't. I know that many might think that is terrible, and it might be, but I couldn't. I would get way too attached. That and with alot of my medical issues I'm not sure I'm a good candidate to do so anyways.

I actually watched dateline last line as they were interviewing her. it was sad to see the house and how cramped they will be and the yard looks awful as well. the kids are not even thrilled about more babies. The 6 she has 3 of them have disabilities and such. one has autism, one has ADHD and one has speech dleays. she had those 6 kids within 5 years as 2 are twins. she said she wanted a big family so thats why she kept havign them. Then she decided to try one more time with the left over ones she had from last IVF. and the doc implanted all 6 of them in her and 2 of those eggs spilt so she had 2 sets of twins in that bunch. She was living off of disability checks and student loans. Now she has no disability and no student loans coming in. So she has no income! I was so mad at this whole situation. I understand you want a big family. 6 should of been enough expecially if finacially you cant do it. Finish your schooling like you were doign then have more...

I think there comes a point when a parent has to make sacrifices for the benefit of your children. I read that this woman is apparently obsessed with having children or something.

Her house is filthy and she already had six children. If she cannot take care of the family she has, why did she ever go out and get so many embryo's implanted? It is selfish. She could've had one embryo implanted, had a baby and gone back to her filthy home. But instead, she has a whole bunch of baby's.

I am sure she loves her children very much, and she's got 14 to care for now. But she honestly should have thought of those children before going out and making the choice to procreate far beyond her means. Her children are so young and they're going to grow up without getting adequate amounts of one-on-one time with mum. In a crowded home. It is not good for them to live in such close quarters, people (even toddlers, I believe) need some time each day by themselves. Whether it is a minute alone or an hour. They're not going to get that, and even if they do they're surrounded by filth that is unsanitary, especially for those newborn babies.

I feel sorry for them and I hope that the children get to experience a childhood all kids should have, full of innocence without the worry of money. And I hope they get a new home!

And quite obviously, she does not have the means to support her family. If she did, she would not be seeking donations. And if she does have money behind her, she should not be taking money of people when their are others, such as the thousands of homeless people because of the bushfires, who need it.
