So it's the afternoon of day #2 and Wesley has not nursed once. Since I am sick, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do it. DH was home all day yesterday, so it was a good distraction for Wesley. Plus mom was sortof out of service. tongue.gif Well today I am alone with the kids and Wesley has been struggling a bit, he is asking for it. But I'm holding firm. DH puts him to bed just fine, no crying for mom, and he sleeps all the way through. So that's good. Typically first thing in the morning, that's all he wants though, but I've been trying to get up and offer him a sippy (or other bribe, like snack fruits blush.gif ) instead. Distraction, distraction, distraction. Whenever I sit down, he comes over and wants to nurse, so I may not be on PC much since I can't sit down at the computer.......but I'm doing it this time you guys...for real. wink.gif I'm done.

Wish me luck! I need some stay strong vibes, please!

Anyhow, final update...We're done for good. It's been since whenever I last posted this. So maybe 6 days now. No boob. And I can even get him down for naptime and bedtime myself without him asking. Just goes to bed. Yay for me! partydance.gif 19 months I went. smile.gif Wil is also just about PT, so it's been one heck of a week for me! sleep.gif

Rae! I missed your post! What made you want to quit nursing? Its so funny that our kids are the same age and you are just done nursing, but I can barely remember nursing Al. It seems like a lifetime ago. bawling.gif

QUOTE (PrairieMom @ Jan 15 2008, 04:08 PM)
What made you want to quit nursing?

Because I'm not producing any milk, so he is only using me as a pacifier. I enjoyed the closeness, so no complaints, but I knew really nothing was coming out anymore. I lost my supply awhile ago. He's also a big kid, so I'm just ready to move on with the next chapter. I think he is too. wink.gif

Thanks ladies, I was beginning to feel ignored! laugh.gif I can't believe that I have done both (wean and PT) all at the same time. New years resolution I guess! smile.gif I really feel like a ton of weight has been lifted.
