Ok so my mom is in Cuba right now on Holidays, she comes back on Friday.

My grandmother went into my mom's house (she half owns it) to check on things, to make sure everything was ok. She found the leftovers from my brother's little get together, which included pot, hash and poker... among the cigarettes and cigars.

She found a "herb chopper", some rolling papers, several lighters, a small water bong, some pop bottles with a hole in the bottom (homemade bongs) and some rolled up foil paper.

She wasn't impressed...and called me to complain about it, telling me she wanted me to go over with her later so she could give my brother an earful. So I did, and she did.

Anyways... long story short, the cops were called around 11pm, bcause my grandmother was feeling threatened because of comments said and looks given by my brother and 3 friends when we had gone over around 10:15pm... one of the guys there was a childhood friend, so my g-ma called his parents. His dad is fairly abusive and alcoholic, so his dad showed up and took the car keys from his son and told him they'd talk when he got home.

By the time the cops came over, it was almost 2am. dry.gif dry.gif Boo on my grandmother for making me stay with her because she was worried. rolleyes.gif Oh well....

Anyways the cops said there's nothing they can do at htis point, since although my g-ma owns half the house, she doesn't actually live there, so she can't throw my brother out, which was the intention. The cops said it was a catch 22 situation... rolleyes.gif

So when my mom gets back, my g-ma is going to threaten to sell the house (my mom can't afford to buy her out) if my mom doesn't do something about my brother. And my g-ma said that she will tell the cops that my mother is aware of what is going on, and that will hold my mother responsible.

So my g-ma is pissing and moaning to me about him, and he's pissing and moaning about her to me... so I'm trying to smooth them both out towards each other. rolleyes.gif

I'm so tired of my brother and his troubles. It would be so much easier on everyone if he just moved out on his own.

Can yall put him in rehab or something? Maybe send him to jail for all the drug stuff that he does? Ya know jail isnt always that bad. It will get him away from the friends and he wont have acess to the pot. And in jail he can take some drug classes. Its just an option. I dont know the entire history but jail is better than dead.

I AGREE. We can't do anything, because 1) we don't live in the same house, 2) he's 18 which basically he's of consenting age 3) we can't just "send him to jail", he has to be charged with something. To be charged with something, he has to be arrested. To be arrested, he has to be caught... and to be caught, well, he has to be caught. Or turned in. Which my grandmother and I did - we called the cops on him and told them he was doing pot and hash in the house, he was selling it to his 3 friends (which I saw, I was present) and he at some point was grwoing 2 small pot plants (i saw them) in my mom's house

My grandmother was fully prepared to have him thrown out, arrested etc etc etc... because you're absolutely right, jail is better than dead. Which is why we're doing this, in his interest.

In any case... when my mom gets back, hopefully this will be controlled.

Tough situation. I'm not sure what you can do legally. I would definitely keep pushing for rehab, like a broken record.
