Feedings at night

During the day Liam easily can go 2-3 hrs between feedings. But the last 2 nights I swear we've been up every hr. Could be bc he has a cold and is kind of stuffy. But it's killing me. I'm not getting any sleep and I can't nap when he does bc of Isabelle. How can I get him to eat more at the night feedings and get up less?

Cosleep. No other advice, but that. I think a lot of people suffered through that, I know I did. Just wait until you go back to work and get no sleep.

Seriously, cosleeping was the only thing that helped me.

I don't have any advice other than to hang in there and it won't last forever! I remember getting so tired of getting in and out of bed with hardly any sleep in between when Allie was a baby, but I was determined not to have her in my bed because we had such a hard time getting Andrew out of it. With him, getting him to go to sleep at night without us laying in his bed, and then him coming into our bed a few hours later lasted a few years, (he STILL comes in our bed sometimes, but last year is when we finally got him to mostly stay in his bed.) where getting up constantly and getting no sleep would probably only have lasted a few months at the most. Allie didn't sleep through the night until I weaned her when she was a little over 1 year, but that every hour thing really doesn't last that long. Maybe Liam is going through a growth spurt, or it could be his cold. I hope he goes back to his normal eating habits for you soon!

I'm not comfortable cosleeping. My husband moves around way too much for that. He's right next to me in the bassinet but I usually go to the living room so I can change him and stuff. Maybe he's falling asleep too and I need to try and make him eat more.

are you swaddling him? that really helped with us. also, i started sleeping on my back with Charlie on my chest on those nights when he just woudn't cooperate. I found that it is also helpful if I sleep shirtless and strip him down to his diaper and do kind of a kangaroo care when we are sleeping. I think my body comforted him. But, we are back to co sleeping.

I suggest a combination of things...
1st is I would suction his nose out right before he goes to bed.
2nd is I would try feeding him once an hour the lest few hours before bed.
3rd is I would swaddle him and set the head of his bed up on some books or something so that it's on an incline, as that may help his stuffy nose.

I agree with the cluster feeding and also try not to take him out of the room - if he isn't soaking wet maybe doesn't need a diaper change each time?
