Ashley complained off and on for a couple of days about her stomach hurting. It seemed to be mostly in the morning. I thought maybe she was constipated again so I had her sit on the potty for awhile. She wasn't in horrible pain, or crampy type pain, it just sounded like she was in some discomfort. She gets like this when she is gassy or constipated so I didn't think too much of it. Well, last night, she said it hurt when she went pee. My first thought was that it was a UTI. But she said it burned on her skin. So, I looked and she has a rash. Well, it's not really a rash.. there's no bumps, blisters, or raised skin. It looks more like an irritated area. It's a huge red area starting at the top of her vagina area going around her bottom.. with it being more red toward the outside of the ring. She said it didn't itch or anything like that -- I don't think it is a yeast infection but I really don't know what one looks like. I put some aquaphor on it last night as that always worked with diaper rash when she was little. This morning she said she felt fine, it didn't hurt when she went potty, and the rash looked faded quite a bit but you can still see where it is. Any ideas? Could it be an allergy from something she ate? I let her go to school, but now I am wondering if I should have taken her to the ped. Has anyone seen anything like this?

I know this is a weird questions but Lexi done this when she was younger, has she been playing with herself? Lexi done that when she was little and she got a little rash from it. Just an option.

Not that I am aware of... and this doesn't look like irritation.

I called the ped and they want me to bring her in. I'll update you later.

I think from what you are describing it sounds like yeast also..

Oh, sorry I didn't update yesterday.

I did take her to the ped. She said she thinks it was just a reaction to something she ate. Not an allergy, but she can't eat or drink a lot of acidic foods. She's never had a reaction like this. They did the quick test for a UTI, but it came back negative. They're sending it to the lab just in case because she did complain about her tummy hurting too. But, the rash/irritation is already gone today and she's back to herself.

My neighbors little boy (he's almost 2) can't drink or eat anything with too much acid because he gets what looks like a diaper rash all the way around. Sounds like the same thing!
