Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. Sounds like you are eating healthy. Probably a lot healthier than me, lol.

I must admit I don't know much about the body fat/water stuff so I can't comment on that. Is that bad, good? I always say I'm going to figure out all that stuff, including the BMI, but never really have.

Hey, I see you got a workout in too last night. Great job. thumb.gif

Keep up the good work Marie. You will get to where you want to be the way you are going. cheerleader.gif cheerleader.gif

I don't know a whole lot about it either.

Basically when it comes to body fat, we all know that the scale isn't the greatest measure of our success. It actually is the fat that we're losing that measures it. The less body fat we have, the better shape we are actually in.

When it comes to BMI (Body Mass Index), it's not always the best indication either because it doesn't take into account our organs, bones, and our natural shape. So sometimes those that don't need to lose are actually trying to lose because of what their BMI says about them, which is why body fat is a better predictor.

As for the water percentage, I'm still looking that one up, but I do know that up to 80% of our body is water. ohmy.gif

Thanks Karen!

thumb.gif Very true!!! You happen to know quite a bit about it, actually. happy.gif

There are a lot of people who work out regularly that have a high BMI b/c of muscle weight. But they are very lean and have about 5% of body fat.

This is why I'd rather take my measurements than weigh. happy.gif

I've worked in 2 gyms in the past, partly why it embarrassing me that I've let my weight get so out of control. I also try to read as much as possible on the subject and have been doing more reseach lately.

I really enjoy reading about Nutrition and that though.

Ok, my update so far today.

Breakfast:
bowl of cherrios, half a banana, of course milk in there.

Snack:
Other half of my banana, glass of water

Lunch:
Water
Cup of WW rice, next time I'll do half as it was quite filling
cup of kidney beans
half corn on the cob
half an avacado

Going to have a snack now, probably a fruit, or maybe a carb and fruit, and water, I haven't had much today.

Definetly going to the gym tonight. Will do the rowing machine (today is arms), the bike, if my friend comes I will skip one of these cardios and go for a swim, I'll also do my weights, abs and I plan on relaxing in the sauna after.

growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif DH has got to work late tonight, won't be able to go to the gym. I was so looking forward to it for a change. I'll try and get a workout in at home though. Probably just some weights and ball.

Anyhow, had vegetables and dip for snack instead of carbs and fruit.

Dinner will be roasted chicken, potatoes, and carrots, and boiled green beans.

You know the personal trainer I used last year told me that he had a hard time getting insurance because of his BMI...this guy was a body building competitor so you can imagine he was about 1-2% body fat! That's why I put nothing in BMI. Thankfully my scale measures body fat and I've started tracking that along with weight.

You are doing well Marie, I can tell you have become more motivated recently! WTG!!

Uhhhhh I had a donut last night, and a french vanilla from Timmy's.

I didn't work out at home, no time really, well actually I took Anthony swimming instead. We had a great time.

Tonight dh should be home so I'll get a good workout in.

Breakfast:
cream of wheat (grits), some milk. Didn't finish everything because I wasn't that hungry.

Snack:
An apple, however I've only eaten about a third because I'm not very hungry still. sad.gif

I finished my apple, LOL rolling_smile.gif

Lunch was a WW wrap with turkey, broccoli sprouts, and feta. Two small cucumbers, and a bowl of mushroom soup.

I don't recall having another snack, but that could be me lying emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

Dinner:
SO YUMMY!!! I made something new. It was pork simmered in kidney beans and onions, broccoli, and rice.

I went to the gym this evening and did 20 mins on the eliptacle, 20 minutes on the bike, my abs and thighs. Spent 15 minutes in the sauna.

I'm starving now so I'm going to have some pb&j on multigrain, 2 slices, a glass of milk, and then I'm done for the night.

I was really good coming home. Stopped at Tim's for dh, and got NOTHING for me biggrin.gif

I drank I think around 50 oz today.

Well today is Thursday, and Thursdays for me are my take a break day since I like to sit in front of the tv and watch ER and GA with whatever I want.
Also I had a lot of running around to do today, so I made some decent choices.

Breakfast:
Had to take the car to get fixed for 8:00 (grrrrr whole aother story, and almost $600 later) so needless to say I was up WAY early to bring dh to work, then home to get Anthony up and dressed and off right away.
We stopped at Tim's and I got a breakfast sandwich (tea biscuit with eggs, bacon and cheese), and a small milk.

Lunch:
Anthony had McD's, I skipped and had a chicken wrap from somewhere else.
Apple juice

Dinner:
Chicken, Seafood Lasagna, Cesear Salad and bread.

Not enough water today. I forgot to take my vitamins also.

I confess I had cookies, milk and popcorn while watching my shows.

No gym tonight as Ron gets home to late for me to go and be back to watch ER.

Tomorrow I will do a ball workout at home, and I'm going swimming with Robbie and there's no junk. I don't expect to lose anything this week but I'm overall happy with most of my choices.

I knew tv was going to be good tonight, that's why I opted for some unhealthy choices. ER and GA were awesome tonight. So well worth the junk I ate emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

It is 2:00 here almost. I am just getting around to eating.
I didn't sleep a wink last night, again, so it really threw me off this morning, and I just didn't feel like having anything to eat.

I finished a small workout though. My upper body today, and then hopefully swimming tonight.

Lunch:
ww wrap with chicken and sprouts
yogart
Will have some vegetables probably also

Sorry guys, I've SUPER busy this week with interviews and appointments. Needless to say, I've had some really poor choices in food also as I've been out and about and decided to take the kids out yesterday since Robbie was out of school for a dentist appointment etc....

So I won't update on my eating habits since last, because it's disappointing. I didn't head to the gym all weekend either, as I never do, but this is something that I'm consiously going to work on starting this weekend, at least going once on the Saturday or the Sunday. I think this will really help in my weight loss.

I did go to the gym on Monday during AuntFlo's visit and my gosh it hurt like hell, but I got 40 minutes cardio in which is way more then I thought I could do, but I felt the better for doing it anyway.

Tuesday I felt much better and got 30 minutes on the bike and another 15 on the row machine. Did my crunches as well. Not sure if I'll there tonight as there's great shows on tv that I don't want to miss, but I will try my best to get something in maybe while everyone is eating dinner.

Tomorrow is a new day though. I will try and catch up on everyones journal.

I did do a sneak peak on my scale this morning and was quite surprised at the result, I will share that Friday though. tongue.gif

Have a great day LOSERS. wub.gif hug.gif
