thumb.gif I'm looking at buying either an exercise bike or a stepper. But I was just reading a flyer and they have the Exercise Bike on sale for $129.99 and an Eilliptcial Trainer for $299.99. I don't know much about the Elliptical Trainer. Any other suggestions? My apartment is a fare size, but I don't want some big bulky exercise equipment in my living room.

For me, I would definitely go with an elliptical over either a bike or a stepper. It is a great workout and easy on your knees. I would also look into a Concept 2 Rower as an option. It is really light and easy to put somewhere and is a really good workout. I prefer it even to my elliptical. To buy new is quite expensive but we found ours on Craigslist, like new for $350. Well, well worth the price.

Just make sure you test it out to make sure it's smooth if you go with the elliptical. Ours is a better brand so it's really smooth. I have heard that some of the cheap ones aren't as smooth. Test out whatever you buy.

Yes, eliptical. It gives you probably the best overall workout as far as cardio equipment goes. And I love how you can change the intensity and the grade (more up hill, etc).

I come from a family of bad knees, so I prefer the elliptical myself! That actually seems like a decent price for one too...I've been dying to get an elliptical for the house!
