So Breanna has been sleeping 10-12 hours straight since 2 months old. But ever since she reached about 5 months old she has been waking in the night. Where she would go down at 730pm wake up at 1230am and then every 3 hours after that. This lasted 2 weeks. Then she would go down at 7pm and wake at 4am . Now she does sleep somewhat through the night BUT because she has a cold she is getting up more. So we figured maby because she has always been a big baby( 10lbs 7 oz at birth) she needs the extra calories and such. so we started rice cereal. Well we started other solids( homemade) and she started to get gassy, diarreah, and miserable in where you could not put her down for more than 2 minutes at a time. Well we thought too much variety of solids in a short time so i decided to give her one food a week and start with cereals and veggies. Well she is ok with Peas. BUT rice cereal nope. she gets the runs and gassy. I just dont understand why she is getting up so much. was any of your kids sleeping through teh night and then all of a sudden BOOM they are not anymore? how long did it last?

Yep, Jack did sleep thru for a while and then at about 4 months things went BAD, which is when i became a sleep nazi and I had to force it...........you never know, she might just be waking out of habit........that is my thought. Babies over 12 pounds technically don't need to eat thru the night........I am not trying to start anything, just MY OPINION.
Jack was waking out of habit cause he knew I was coming in at 12, 2, 4, 6 etc -------------------- |

Is she possibly teething? Bobby was sleeping through the night great then he started waking up when he was teething....I don't know if it was the pain or what but he did it for 2-3 weeks until the tooth cut through then he was sleeping wonderful again.

I agree with both Jen and Stephanie, it could be a new habit (that started when she was sick), teething, or a growth spurt. Colt was HUGE and didn't need to eat during the night even during a growth spurt, he just ate more during the day. Have you tried upping her feedings during the day? Even if she's not tolerating the cereal what about an extra bottle or extra ounces at a few feedings?
