Need advice/help quick with sore nipples

O.K. am i not the only one going through this?? When my son nurses, he constantly turns his head with my nipple still in his mouth and OUCH let me tell u that hurts like crazy. Any suggestions on how to stop him from doing that? Or is there anything i can do???? Is this normal in breastfeeding???? Im just getting so sore where hes doing that, and hes also been gumming me to death, he will lay there and just clamp down on my nipple and its like hes chewing on my nipples and then he turns his head while clamped down and OMG it hurts bad. Is all this normal and part of breasfeeding, what can i do???? I am sooooo sore right now

Megan's doing this A LOT right now. There is probably something on Kellymom's site to combat this, haven't taken a look. I just stop the session until she's willing to settle down and get down to business OR we go into a quiet DARK room and lay down to nurse, that usually works too.

To help with sore nips, walk around topless and let them get air, that will heal them fairly quickly.
