I had Ashley's parent-teacher conference yesterday. She's doing great in all her subjects, although her handwriting could be better. laugh.gif Her teacher just went on and on about how sweet and caring Ashley is to the other kids. But, she told me another story that just thought was so sweet.

Ashley and one of her friends had gotten into a tiff about something. Ashley must have said something that hurt the other girls feelings. I guess Ashley wanted to apologize but it was time to start a lesson so she didn't have a chance to verbally apologize. (The teacher didn't know anything about this part at the time) So, during the lesson, Ashley passes her friend a note with an apology on it. The teacher did not see this. However, the teacher did see when the girl went to reply, and she had already been given a verbal warning a few times that day for not doing what she should be doing, so the teacher told the girl to pull her card and go to a yellow card (they still do the green, yellow, red system). So, Ashley went up to the teacher and told her that it was her fault, that she had passed the girl a note with an apology because she had hurt her feelings and didn't want her to feel bad all day long. Ashley is very cautious about breaking the rules, and would be devastated if she ever got a yellow card, so it was a really brave thing for her to do, to confess to the teacher. I am just proud of her for taking responsibility, and for apologizing to her friend... although she could have chosen a better time and place.

Very sweet!!!! wub.gif WTG Ashley!

Kids are so honest at this age and feel so bad/guilty so easy that they do the right things. We only hope they continue that as they are older. tongue.gif
