Has anyone experienced very low back pain? ...like it's on your tail bone?

If my hubby and I recall, I had similar pains while I was pregnant with Trei-Trei. I have to sit and stand very careful, or else it is very, very painful.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? If so, do you know what caused it? ...do you know of anything that may help relieve the discomfort, and at most times pain?

I had a lot of lower back pain when I was pg. I was carrying a big baby, he was 9 pound when he was born. And I had the biggest pg belly you've ever seen...many people thought I was having triplets!
I went to my doc, and he said that it was my syatic nerve. (sorry for spelling) It's a large nerve that runs down your spine and can pinch in your lower back/butt area. It can even feel like you threw out your back. Very painful. One thing that helped me was putting a pillow between my knees when I slept.
It can also just be the new amount of pressure from your baby, and your balance gets way off and can put a strain on your back. Warm baths help, but no meds you can really take. I wish there was more you can do for it besides resting alot, propping your legs when you sleep, and giving birth! smile.gif

I never really had back pain when I was pregnant but a few weeks ago I though I hurt my lower back bad and it seemed to get better but then worse again it was very painful depending on how I bent over and stuff...ouchie!! I put one of those patches iceyhot ones and it last for 4-8 hours I used (tagerbalm from walmart) like 5 patches for 3.40 the work great. It seemed to really help I also slept with pillow between legs too and it helped. I still get it a few times depending on postiion but I do think it is related to siatica pain ouchy!!! Hope you get better soon wub.gif

Thanks, I will be sure to ask my OB at my next appt on the 21st. BTW, we'll be find out what we're having! horray.gif

I had a routine appt, yesterday, with an awesome "fill in" Doc, but I wasn't feeling any discomfort/pain, so it slipped my mind, and I only asked about UT/BV/Yeast Infection preventions. Which, he told me hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! Water and Cranberry juice are best. Just a little extra FYI.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions of pillows and such. I'm glad I'm not crazy and imagining it. It just feels weird to explain to someone that it feels like I got kicked in my tailbone w/ a steeltoe boot. And, then when someone asks me to point it out, I just explain it's at the top of your bum "crack," right on the bone. blush.gif
