Sunday afternoon, there was a very disturbing post in GD from a new member. I opened it without knowing I would be face to face with a very graphic photo. Anyone else see it? Yuck. The post said something like "your computer is infected with a virus" on the bottom, so I closed it right away before being able to hit REPORT. I know it happens, so I'm not complaining, but just asking...Is it possible to have a REPORT button or RED FLAG button on the forums homepage as well as in the post itself? Or would it get too difficult to then know which post we are referring to if it's not in the post itself? I wanted to report this member, but didn't want to have to open his/her post once again. Instead, I went ahead and PM'd a mod, who was very helpful, but would it be quicker to have a button on the homepage? I'm not sure. Just an idea.

THANKS Rod and DeeDee!

I've wondered the same thing, there are some posts you just KNOW need to be reported and don't want to have to open them to do so...good idea thumb.gif

Maybe just a "looks suspicious" tag of some kind. Or maybe a way to say "heads up" to a mod without having to go through the whole PM process. I'm not sure how it would work, because I guess it's hard to judge if it's legit without opening the post, but like Monica said, sometimes it's pretty obvious. This one was unfortunately NOT obvious. dry.gif

true, it gets kinda annoying when you see a thread that the title makes no sense and when you click it, its junk.

I don't think you can actually get a virus by just viewing a post. I could be wrong though of course...

there is usually at least one mod around within an hour of any post, so i would just skip the post or check the online now list and PM whatever mod is online.

with any "newbie" post, i recommend NOT clicking on any links or photos. in most cases, it is harmless spam but i wouldn't take the chance it is a virus. mods are able to view the link without clicking it.
