I'm in need of new workout shoes! I workout at least four times a week, so they get worn down pretty fast. I do a lot of cross-training, cardio, conditioning, kickboxing......Anyone know a good shoe for this type of exercise? What's your favorite? I always go with an Asics. But I want to try something new. The Nike Shocks (or Shox) look so cool...how do they feel. Are they worth the high cost?

I do like Nikes alot. The Shox feel like cushions to me, so I feel that they were worth paying a heck of alot for.
I also have a really nice New Balance pair that's extra comfy and supportive and I've always liked Adidas and Pumas. Edited to say: I don't know about everyone else, but I've always found my Nikes to last a fair amount of time too, more than other brands. I really like my Skechers. They are comfortable and light weight.

I haven't worn Nikes in a long time but when I did I thought they were definitely worth it. I'm a K-Swiss girl now

I have a couple pairs of Shox and I think they are really crappy. I definitely don't feel I got my money's worth. I don't think they give you any extra bounce or cushion... I like the look tho, IMO not a good workout shoe

I don't do your kind of exercise but like to look like I do - I like Adidas and nike and Sacouny (sp)...........the Adidas I bought are the best of the 3 for me. I will likely be in them full time here soon with my kankles!

I find Skechers to be the most comfortable and supportive for pretty much everything. I have an old pair of Reeboks that are great if I'm going to be walking alllll day, but they're not really good for much else.

I have been faithfully using Sacouny (spelling) for quite some time now. They fit great, have great coushion, and are reasonable priced.

I typically get either Nike or RYka...Ryka are probably my favorite I can just only get them at Lady foot locker so having my size in stock is occasionally an issue (yes i have freakishly large feet) Nike I can always go into the mens section and find something there

Thanks everyone! I may just have to go into Foot Locker and try a bunch on. I haven't worn Nike since I was about 10 and they were lavender...LOL! So I may try them out again.

Yeah, the sales guy was like "those are our biggest seller and everyone who likes asics typically sticks to asics". I tried the Shox and they didn't have much support for me upfront. I have terrible bunions, so when I'm doing high impact aerobics, I need a lot of cushion around my toes. -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

I am very weird about shoes. If they make my feet look big I wont wear them I only wear a size 7 and the shoes have to go with the pants and fit together just perfectly or I will never wear the shoes. I have a pair of Nikes and I really like them they are comfy. But my favorite pair ever..I got a pair of Polo sneakers in the little boys section that remind me of cheerleading sneakers so I had to have them and I love them...I tried to get DF to get me cheerleading shoes but when he saw the price he said no even though I only get new sneakers about once ever 3 or 4 yrs..if that. My adidas sandles lasted 7 till he forced me to throw them away. |
