well today was a long day thats for sure.
got there at 1:30pm for the doc. appt, and i sat at the elevator as usual cuz of the whole sars thing, and at about 2:30 DW came and got me to go for the u/s( thanks to the note from the doc, which was the only way i could get in) and so DW told me what doc said which was that she is 2cm dialated and 30% effaced, h/b was 143ish and measuring BIG, no weight gain, b/p was good, so everything looks great, making some progress! Now for the u/s got there at 2:30, had a 3:00 appt and didnt get in till after 4:00, so needless to say DW and I were tired hungry and very cranky!!!!!! so we finally get in and the tech does her thing, not to mention baby nearly knocking the thingy out of her hand a few times!!! and she also said that its a big baby, big head anyways. but we got a pic of the baby sucking its hand!!!!! the u/s was to see if there was enough fluid in there for the baby and if there wasnt that she would be induced right then and there, but there is plenty of fluid for the baby so doc says we go back on monday to see her regular doc and see how things are then and if baby isnt here by next friday he'll induce her then. so next friday is our DAY!!!!!!!! But DW doesnt think she'll make it through the weekend cuz of all the cramps/cx are very painful and getting stronger. so we'll see well thats all for now, update again on monday (if we make it til then) P.S............M2A....... as for posting before we leave for the hospital...... we shall see! depends on how strong DW's head lock is..lol This post has been edited by supermom on Aug 22 2003, 04:11 AM -------------------- Jamie

How exciting!!!!! There won't be any problems with you going onto the labor and delivery floor, will there? Hope baby decides to come SOON!!

no there wont be any problems with me going in, they lifted the restrictions a little, she can even have one more person there besides me if she wants, but only for the delivery.
once the baby is here, i will be the only person allowed to stay with Kim and the baby, but hopefully she will be discharged quickly (her OB said 6hrs if her and baby are ok). -------------------- Jamie

6 Hrs!!!!!! I had to stay for 48 hours and there wasn't anything wrong with either of us. I think I enjoyed getting the rest at the hospital though, better than I could have gotten at home.

well, with the sars restrictions and the boys not being able to come to the hospital at all, she really wants the earliest discharge as possible, so they can meet their new little brother or sister and not be babysat.

If she does leave that early, make sure she has plenty of help at home, so she can be laying down and relaxing for a few days. She shouldn't do too much too soon. But the loving DH you are, I imagine you'll take GREAT care of her !
