Jayme is intrigued by my fingernails and toenails when I paint them. On Saturday I was painting them outside and she stopped playing and laid her hand on top of mine so I would paint her nails. She then sat while I did the other hand and went and showed her dad. I would love to keep them up but worry about her ingesting the nail polish and having to use remover on her when they chip. Does anyone know if they make organic or non-toxic nail polish and where I would find it?

Thanks

I have never heard of organic nail polish. Do a google search for it.

I do know that my sister paints my nieces nails for fun and it has never hurt her.

Ashley wants me to paint her nails so badly. But, DH won't let me. I thought he was being overly-protective until he showed me an article about kid's being poisoned from the nail polish on their nails. I decided to wait until she is older. I know they make nail polish for kids, but it says not to use under 3. So, that makes me wonder how safe that stuff really is?

If you do find anything safe, please let me know.

I've never tried any, but I've noticed that most health food stores sell nailpolish. I would imagine they are "better for you". Try Whole Foods if you have one or Wild Oats. I bet they cost a lot more than the cheap Wet N Wild though. biggrin.gif

Funny... I was just about to post something similar. Olivia ALWAYS wants her nails polished when she's with me while I'm getting them done at the salon and so a few times, I've let them paint her nails too.

Now that I think about it though, it makes me a little nervous....God forbid she ends up ingesting any or what not. I've never heard of it harming before and I wore nail polish when I was little too but still.

I'll have to check out the organic stuff as well. I've used nail polish remover on her but SCRUB her hands with soap immediately after.
