Okay, you all know I live in Colorado where we have a really dry climate. Plus we got our first snow yesterday, so I have the heat up in the house. But Wil had a nose bleed today when we were out shopping. It only gushed for maybe 10 seconds, but it totally scared me. I called the ped when we got home and they said to just keep an eye on him. Also, I need to setup the humidifier ASAP.
Don't you think that 13 months is young to start having nose bleeds?? I had no idea babies got them. Someone make me feel better...please! -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

Matt started getting nose bleeds right arround the time we moved here. NOw he doesn't seem to get them just because but If he starts to throw a tantrum or something and is crying really hard he will get another one. I think he had 5 last week.

We are very very dry here as well - I wouldn't worry to much - because we sometimes get nosebleeds as well and he is turning into a little man now......just keep an eye on it

I hope it is just the dry climate. I'm sure the humidifier will work wonders for all of you. Poor Wil.
*I didn't know you guys got snow yesterday! I'm so jealous!! |

I have kept my DD nose moist with saline spray morning and night. It keeps her sinus' clear and helps keep away the nose bleeds. We have been doing that for 8 years (she is 8 1/2 yrs old). The humidifier is going on tomorrow.

Nosebleeds are rare here due to our damp weather, but most nosebleeds are more a nuisance than anything else. Most of the time they are simply caused by cracking of the blood vessels inside the nasal passage. They can occur at any age. A humidifier is a great idea. If they recurr frequently you might want to try a saline nose spray to keep Wil's nasal passages moist.

I had also problem of nose bleed. So i had apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to moisten the passages and prevent the nosebleed from recurring. Use your finger.
