I bought a self tanning lotion - Nivea brand - to try out this weekend. I don't tan, I burn and I don't want to go to a tanning booth - I have aged enough happy.gif . I bought the lightest color possible since I'm so WHITE anyways. I put it on this morning for the 1st time, doing what it said and being generous with the lotion, making sure I covered every inch of leg. WELL....I just noticed it's becoming blotchy orangy looking. ARRRGHH!!! Any tips with self-tanning lotions? Is this just the way they are? If so I'm going back to white because it seems like too much work. happy.gif I was going to wear a dress this week to work w/o hose and not so sure now. dry.gif

I am kind of a self tanner expert laugh.gif For very fair gals, it's nearly impossible to find one that doesn't have at least a hint of orange. The ONLY two I've found (and I've tried them all, from L'Oreal to the $70 a bottle) is the Banana Boat spray and SunLabs (which is the $70 a bottle)....I haven't tried Nivea but it's the same concept as Jergens and the other gradual tanners and I'm guessing you might have been a little too generous with the lotion. I don't use any more or less than I would regular lotion. Did you exfoliate well first too? It might just be the wrong formula for you. The only gradual tanner (Nivea, Jergens, etc) I like and use is called Malibu Hemp, it's a giant brown pump bottle and it's with the regular lotions not the tanning stuff, usually on the top or bottom shelf at Walmart. It's the best color of them all and smells better too.
